GLENDALE, ARIZONA: Former 'The View' co-host Meghan McCain took a pointed jab at Democrats following conservative icon Charlie Kirk's memorial service on Sunday, September 21.

The memorial featured speeches from President Donald Trump, Vice President JD Vance, and Kirk's widow Erika Kirk, who forgave her husband’s shooter.



 

Meghan McCain slams Democrats in social media post

Following Charlie Kirk's memorial, Meghan McCain posted on X (formerly Twitter), writing,

"Today is the day democrats lost 2028," referencing the next Presidential election.

The post quickly went viral, garnering over 1.5 million views at the time of filing.



 

She also reshared clips from Kirk’s memorial, highlighting Erika Kirk's forgiveness of her husband’s killer, writing, "What it would take to do something like this is almost unfathomable. A beacon of resilience and hope for all Americans @MrsErikaKirk."

Donald Trump addresses Kirk’s memorial

During the service, President Donald Trump spoke to a massive crowd, framing Kirk’s killing as an attack on conservative values.



 

"The gun was pointed at him, but the bullet was aimed at all of us. That bullet was aimed at every one of us,” Trump said, receiving loud applause. He also vowed, “ultimate punishment” for Tyler Robinson, Kirk’s accused killer.

Trump added that Kirk’s death was personal. "You can’t let that happen. You can’t let that happen to a country. This was not just an attack on Charlie, it was an attack on everything he stood for," he said.

"The depraved assassin who planned and executed Charlie’s killing has been arrested and charged with capital murder. God willing, he will receive the full and ultimate punishment for his horrific crime,” Trump said.

Internet reacts to Meghan McCain’s post

Many internet users reacted to Meghan McCain's X post where she took a jab at the Democrats and said, "Today is the day democrats lost 2028."

A user wrote on X, "Vance’s speech can easily be his first campaign speech" while one added, "I pray that’s the case. They need to be out of power for a long time."
