Megyn Kelly fires back at George Clooney for mocking her journalism career: 'You failed'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Megyn Kelly has slammed George Clooney after he questioned her journalism career during a conversation with Broadway icon Patti LuPone.
The actor was discussing his new Broadway show ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’, an adaptation of his 2005 film, with LuPone for Variety’s Actors on Actors, when he said, “You see Megyn Kelly, who’s come out and said I’m not a journalist. I didn’t say I was a journalist.”
Referring to his character of broadcast news journalist Edward Murrow, Clooney added, “I’ve at least been to Darfur and Sudan and the Congo and been shot at to try to get stories out. I’m not quite sure what she’s done to be a journalist.”
Megyn Kelly blasts George Clooney for mocking her journalism career
Naturally, Megyn Kelly was infuriated at the ‘Ocean's Eleven’ star’s comment about her.
She began by attacking him for his current appearance on her podcast on Wednesday, April 23.
Kelly said, “We need to talk about George Clooney, who is busy trying to look 30 years younger than he actually is with weirdly dyed hair as he tries his hand at Broadway,” as per megynkelly.com.
“He is currently starring in a stage adaptation of his movie 'Good Night, and Good Luck' about Edward R Murrow because Clooney fancies himself a journalist and has lots of thoughts on how journalists need to do journalism the way he does it,” added the former Fox News host.

Elsewhere in the podcast episode, the 54-year-old also noted that George Clooney “thinks I am objecting to something he put in his show about me. I have no idea what you put in your show about me, and I couldn’t care less, sir.”
The actor's Broadway show, ‘Good Night, and Good Luck’, ends with a montage of news clips featuring the likes of Kelly and Elon Musk.
“I was mocking you for trying to lecture journalists on how to do journalism based on your own failure to speak truth to power. You failed,” the political commentator asserted.

Kelly went on to mention her achievements in her two-decade-long journalism career, before saying, "His world is the world of entertainment and cosplaying human rights advocate on the arm of his wife."
She added, “Maybe in the next decade, he will watch an episode or two and catch on to the kind of journalism that has made 'The Megyn Kelly Show' consistently one of the top, if not the top, news programs in the country with over two billion views and news some call ‘relentlessly factual.’”
Megyn Kelly previously slammed George Clooney’s ‘idea of journalism’
It was not the first time Megyn Kelly attacked George Clooney.
In March, the filmmaker had claimed journalism “has to be waged,” like war during a ‘60 Minutes’ interview.
In response, the Kelly fired back, saying, “George Clooney’s idea of journalism is just toe the party line when it helps the left and say what needs to be said and bury what needs to be said so long as it will hurt the right,” as per HuffPost.
