PALM BEACH, FLORDIA: Former and future first lady Melania Trump revealed that current First Lady Jill Biden called her post-assassination attempt on Donald Trump but also questioned whether her 'concern was genuine'.

Melania cast doubt on Jill Biden's sincerity due to the inflammatory rhetoric she unleashed just a few days ago on President-elect Donald Trump as she referred to him as "evil" and a "liar," according to the New York Post.

During an interview just before the election, Melania Trump told French outlet Paris Match, "I do question, however, whether Jill’s concern was genuine, as a few days prior she referred to my husband as evil and a liar."

She continued, "It was obvious that the onslaught of rhetoric from Democrat leaders and the mainstream media was so deeply embedded in our nation’s consciousness it prompted an attempt to assassinate Donald."

Melania was largely absent throughout her husband’s third White House bid but began making more public appearances during the tail end of the 2024 cycle after she published a tell-all memoir called 'Melania', per the outlet.

She also appeared with her husband at the Madison Square Garden rally a few days before the November 5 election.

Melania Trump skips customary meeting with Jill Biden at White House

Melania Trump opted to skip the traditional tea between first ladies during the transition on Wednesday, November 13, while her better half sat down with President Joe Biden to go over the switch.

Melania’s team said in a statement on Wednesday, "Mrs Trump will not be attending today’s meeting at the White House. Her husband’s return to the Oval Office to commence the transition process is encouraging, and she wishes him great success."

A major reason for skipping tea with the current First Lady was the 2022 FBI raid on Mar-a-Lago, sources told the New York Post.

Interestingly, Melania met with former First Lady Michelle Obama for tea in the Yellow Room after her husband’s 2016 victory but did not extend the same courtesy to Jill Biden after the 2020 election.

Instead of tea with Melania, Jill Biden gave her husband a letter to convey congratulations on the 2024 election and inform her that her team is prepared to help with the transition, per the outlet.

Melania Trump denounces political environment for attack on her husband Donald Trump

During her interview with the French publication, Melania Trump recalled how she felt relieved that "my husband was safe" right after his close encounter but also denounced the political environment that led to the attack on him.

She said, "They want Donald out. They won’t stop. Has the concept of ‘respect’ become antiquated? The Democrat political engine peddles harsh words, vile names, and labels our nation’s 45th president 'a threat to democracy.'"

Melania added, "People today are so desensitized they actually joke about killing a former US president. It is undeniable that this type of speech created a toxic political environment."
