ROBESON COUNTY, NORTH CAROLINA: The investigation into the death of Mica Miller, a South Carolina pastor's wife, has drawn the attention of the FBI and federal attorneys.

Mica Miller, 30, was discovered dead on April 27 from a self-inflicted gunshot wound in Lumbee River State Park in North Carolina.

She died by suicide a few days after serving her 44-year-old husband John-Paul Miller with divorce papers. The police concluded that she had killed herself.

Sheriff’s office asks FBI to join Mica Miller investigation

The Robeson County Sheriff's Office, the lead agency in the investigation, said that they have been in contact with federal authorities ever since the investigation began, the Daily Mail reported.

"Based on the information gathered during the investigation and jurisdiction reasons, the Sheriff's Office has requested the assistance of both agencies," the sheriff's office said in a statement Monday, May 13.

Although no other details were given, it is believed that Mica wrote every day in her journal before she died, sharing details of her struggles and violent marriage.

Mica's husband John-Pau Miller is still under investigation after it was disclosed that he wrote a vicious email to his estranged wife before her death, expressing his desire to "attack and cause pain."

Court documents accuse John-Paul Miller of having been with Mica for years before their marriage, having taken her to the hospital in order to steal her car, and having cheated on his first wife with minor churchgoers.

Mica Miller's family expresses concern

Mica's family has expressed concern in affidavits filed on her behalf regarding her relationship with Miller, referring to him as a "false prophet" and a "wolf in sheep's clothing", according to those who know him.

"When someone hurts me, I try to hurt them back rather than forgive," said Miller, the pastor of the Solid Rock Church in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, in an email to his wife in November 2022, according to an affidavit filed on May 2 by Mica's brother Nathaniel Francis, 32.

"Instead of me forgiving you.. I just attack and try to cause pain," he added.

Mica filed for divorce in October 2023 "on the grounds of adultery", according to divorce documents.

"Plaintiff (Mica) is informed and believes that the defendant (John-Paul) has and is currently engaging in acts of adultery with women whose names are well known to the defendant," the filings state.

"Plaintiff has not condoned the adultery. The plaintiff would show that she left the marital home due to defendant's philandering as well as defendant's growing hostility towards plaintiff," the filing read.

"Defendant has threatened to throw plaintiffs belongings into the yard, locked plaintiff out of her own home and has defamed and demeaned the plaintiff before a congregation of people," it further added.

John-Paul Miller discussed Mica Miller's victories in beauty pageants

According to Mica's divorce filing, during their seven years of marriage, she was a "loyal and responsible wife" who was "devoted to their church and marriage".

At Solid Rock Ministries in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, on May 5, the pastor delivered a heartfelt 20-minute speech during a memorial service.

Over a week after the funeral, on Saturday, May 11, Solid Rock released the video, and hundreds of people watched it, horrified by Miller's "fake and sad act of damage control."

John-Paul revealed to the grieving that he had gone to the morgue four times in the week following Mica's death.

He began by discussing Mica's victories in beauty pageants, dating back to her school days, before sharing anecdotes to help the bereaved comprehend a "more intimate side of her."

Miller described his estranged wife as "bold, confident, anointed, passionate" when it came to leading worship and having a strong singing voice that he could hear throughout their home.

She is survived by her husband, siblings, and five stepchildren.

Internet asks John Paul Miller to 'turn himself in'

After the Daily Mail shared the news on their platform, readers asked the pastor to turn himself in.

One reader wrote, "John Paul Miller should turn himself into the authorities."

Another added, "They need to bring in a legit agency to investigate. Not the Shady FBI."

One person said, "If you’re divorcing someone, all you want is to get away. You wouldn’t kill yourself, because you’re hopeful about the future."

"The fbi are only good at breaking the law and framing people so good luck," one person remarked.
