DURHAM, NORTH CAROLINA: Isabella Strahan, daughter of TV personality Michael Strahan, recently had her chemotherapy port removed at Duke Children's Hospital after completing an eight-month treatment for a brain tumor.

The 19-year-old, known for documenting her cancer treatment journey on YouTube, shared her experience following surgery to remove a medulloblastoma tumor.

Isabella Strahan shares about her chemotherapy port removal journey

On July 17, model Isabella posted the latest episode of her YouTube series, chronicling her health journey following emergency surgery in October 2023 to remove a large medulloblastoma, a type of malignant tumor, from her cerebellum.

During the recent "Vlog 26: Road to Recovery", Isabella returned to Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center in Durham, NC, where she underwent surgery to remove her chemotherapy port.

She asserted, "Long time, no see! I am driving back up to Duke to get my port removed."

She shared her experience, displaying the marks on her neck and stomach where the port was located. Isabella explained, "This kinda looks like a neck vein and it’s kinda uncomfortable sometimes. And this is a bump and that’s where they poke me every time."

Isabella described her hospital room, decorated with an 'Inside Out' theme, and prepared for surgery with her mother, Jean Muggli.

She expressed excitement after consulting with the plastic surgeon and anesthesia team, "I just talked to the plastic surgeon who’s gonna close it, the anesthesia doctor… I talked to everyone. And I’m really excited."

She detailed the anticipated recovery period of about four weeks, "The recovery for this seems to be like four weeks of not going in water and stuff like that. Just being careful and scar care. So, not too bad."

Isabella then posted a video of herself being wheeled to surgery, adorned with a crown while hospital staff cheered her on with bubbles and pom poms.

Post-surgery, she shared her relief at no longer having the protruding port, though she noted discomfort at the site. She concluded with plans for an MRI the following day, promising updates.
