WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Barack Obama and former First Lady Michelle Obama shared a heartfelt family photo with their daughters Malia Obama and Sasha Obama on Instagram to mark Thanksgiving. The post comes after months of speculation about a potential divorce, sparked when they made separate public appearances earlier this year.

In their joint post, the family — dressed in relaxed yet coordinated outfits — smiled for the camera. Barack wore a white button-down shirt, unbuttoned at the neck, paired with khaki trousers. Michelle opted for cream-colored slacks and a yellow-and-green floral-print cami topped with a sea-foam green cardigan. Malia wore a pale yellow asymmetrical dress, while Sasha chose a white lace skirt with a red halter top and a denim jacket.

“During this season of giving, let’s do our best to give back to the communities that have given us so much. From our family to yours, have a wonderful Thanksgiving,” the former President wrote in the caption. Michelle shared the same photo to her Instagram Stories with a simple “Happy Thanksgiving!” and a red heart emoji.

Earlier this year, speculation surged after Michelle skipped the funeral of former President Jimmy Carter, where Barack was expected to appear. The public absence fueled rumors of a rift between the couple. Those rumors briefly grabbed headlines and spread widely across social media.

Earlier posts from Barack Obama and Michelle Obama show family moments

In June, Barack had shared another family portrait to celebrate Malia’s 24th birthday, praising her growth into an “incredible woman.” Later, in October, to mark their 33rd wedding anniversary, the couple posted a selfie together. In those posts, Barack described marrying Michelle as the “best decision I’ve ever made,” and Michelle called herself “so lucky to go through life” with him.

With this Thanksgiving photo, the Obamas offered the most public display of unity in months — and perhaps a quiet answer to lingering doubts over their relationship.
