Michelle Obama launches new podcast series with brother, promises ‘plenty of laughs’ during candid chats

WASHINGTON DC: Michelle Obama and her older brother Craig Robinson have announced a new podcast series where they will share their perspectives on various questions from listeners.

The Chicago-native siblings are the hosts of 'IMO With Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson', produced by Higher Ground, the media company founded by former president Barack Obama and Michelle.

Michelle Obama says 'there’s a lot going on in the world right now'

The podcast will feature discussions on life, relationships, and the world at large.

Each week, Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson will be joined by a special guest to tackle audience questions, offering advice, anecdotes, and humor.

“From resilience in the face of life’s challenges to navigating relationships, parenting, family and faith, ‘IMO’ sees the First Lady at her most relaxed and honest,” according to Higher Ground’s announcement, Variety reported.

The former first lady also shared the part of announcement on Instagram, writing, "There’s a lot going on in the world right now."

"We’re living through some really complicated and confusing times and on top of that, folks are trying to juggle family life, work dynamics, relationships, aging parents, and more," she said.

She added, "That’s why my brother @CraigMalRob and I are launching our new podcast — @IMOPodcasts with Michelle Obama and Craig Robinson."

Michelle Obama says 'IMO' will be a learning experience

The first two episodes of 'IMO' will launch on March 12, with new episodes released weekly on YouTube, Apple Podcasts, Spotify, and other major platforms.

Guests on upcoming episodes will include Tyler Perry, Keke Palmer, Tracee Ellis Ross, Seth and Lauren Rogen, Jay Shetty, Glennon Doyle and Abby Wambach, Elaine Welteroth, Angie Martinez, Dwyane Wade and Gabrielle Union, Logan Ury, and Airbnb CEO Brian Chesky.

"Together, we’ll share our perspectives about some of your questions. And we won’t be doing it alone. We’ll be joined by special guests, friends, and experts along the way," Michelle said.

"I’m going to be honest. We don’t have all the answers. But there will be a lot of opinions. A lot of learning. And plenty of laughs. Because we all need some moments of light right now," she added.

Michelle encouraged fans to share their concerns, which could be discussed in future episodes.

Michelle Obama's podcast announcement sparks mixed reactions

Fans reacted with enthusiasm to Michelle Obama's podcast announcement, with many congratulating her.

 "This is so exciting! I can’t wait to listen. ❤️," one person commented on Instagram.

Another wrote, "What a light to look forward to. We can’t wait to listen! 🎧🧡."

Some social media users, however, were skeptical, with one user on X writing, "Who would ever listen to that."

Another added, "If you’re planning on using this platform for TDS… It will fail before it begins."
