Michelle Trachtenberg's death reminds fans of Chadwick Boseman’s untimely demise: 'You did it again'

MANHATTAN, NEW YORK: ‘Gossip Girl’ actor Michelle Trachtenberg’s sudden death has sent shockwaves among her fans, with many comparing it to the shocking demise of Chadwick Boseman in 2020. 

Trachtenberg was only 39. The actress was discovered in her Manhattan apartment on Wednesday morning, February 26, by her mother, as reported by The New York Post.

Though the cause of death has yet to be confirmed, the publication citing the sources said that she died of natural causes.

The ‘Buffy the Vampire Slayer’ actress underwent liver transplant sometime back and her body may not have accepted it.

After the tragedy, Trachtenberg’s representative Gary Mantoosh issued a statement, saying, “It is with great sadness to confirm that Michelle Trachtenberg has passed away. The family requests privacy for their loss.”

Though Trachtenberg never spoke about her health issues publicly, her photos shared on social media sparked a variety of speculations lately.

Some believed she was really not well while some assumed that she was having a substance abuse problem.

The ‘Ice Princess’ actress had even slammed people online who commented on her look.

In one post, shared in January last year, she wrote, “I’ve received several comments recently about my appearance. I have never had plastic surgery. I am happy and healthy. Check yourself haters.”

In another post, she stated, “Fun fact. This is my face. Not malnutrition, no problems. Why do you have you hate? Get a calendar.”

Now, many fans have taken to social media drawing a parallel between her and Boseman’s death from colon cancer.

He was 43 and never talked about his problems publicly. Like Trachtenberg, the ‘Black Panther: Wakanda Forever’ actor also became the center of various speculations while alive.

But online users are now condemning those who mocked the stars’ appearances without knowing the truth.

“The saddest part is Michelle Trachtenberg is another Chadwick Boseman situation. People commented on her appearance and no one knew,” an X user tweeted.

“I never liked the characters of Dawn or Georgina but I liked Michelle as an actress. Especially with Georgina, I was suppose to not like that character. To all the fools that didn’t learn from cyberbullying Chadwick Boseman’s weight loss only for him to die of colon cancer 4 months later, you did it again. The third one said, “Like with Chadwick Boseman, people spent weeks picking apart Michelle Trachtenberg's appearance and calling her a drug addict, it's disgusting.”
