WASHINGTON, DC: House Speaker Mike Johnson doubled down on his sweeping praise of President Donald Trump, claiming that the first ten months of his administration were the most productive in history.

He also took the opportunity to slam the Democrats, blaming them for the longest shutdown and accusing them of pushing a Marxist, radical agenda.

Johnson, while speaking to Fox News on Saturday, November 10, said, “For the first ten months of this administration, in this Congress, were the most productive of any in the modern era and arguably in all of history."

"Look at it on the Republican side, President Trump, we did the biggest tax cuts in US history. We’re doing massive regulatory reform. We’re cutting fraud ways and abuse out of government. We closed the borders as we promised."

"We’re stopping the crime crisis. We have all these great things going in the economy. We infused progress policies in our big, beautiful bill. The president has ended eight wars around the globe. All that in nine months," he added.

He went on to slam the Democrats: "What did the Democrats done in the same time? They shut the government down, they pushed ICE officers around, and they spurred on political violence."

Attacking the Democrats for being radicals, he said, "There’s a big contrast between the two parties. This is not your father’s democrat party; they’re Marxists now, they’re radicals, and they’re too disturbed that we’re delivering for the people."

He ended by saying, "They had to do anything they could to disrupt it, and the shutdown was their plan. It didn’t work, and now their leaders are gonna lose their posts."

On Sunday, November 10, Johnson took to X to share a video of his remarks, writing, “The first 10 months of this administration were the most productive in HISTORY: securing the border, biggest tax cuts ever, regulatory reform, ending eight wars, tackling crime, and jump-starting the economy."

He further wrote, "Democrats answered with a government shutdown, political violence, and attacks on law enforcement. Their radical Marxist wing is running the show, and it’s hurting the American people.”

Senate advances vote to end government shutdown

Among the points mentioned by Johnson, the most significant is the ending of the shutdown. The Senate took a major step toward resolving it when lawmakers voted 60–40 to allow debate on a motion to resume funding for federal agencies.

The procedural vote set a 30-hour limit on further discussion before a final vote, which will require only a simple majority to pass.

President Trump said the bipartisan agreement marked significant progress toward reopening the government. When asked by CNN’s Kaitlan Collins whether he personally approved the deal, Trump replied, “If it’s the deal I’ve heard about... I would say so... We have support from enough Democrats, and we’re going to be opening up our country.”
