Millie Bobby Brown calls backlash to her accent 'so frustrating'
When co-host Sean Hayes praised Millie Bobby Brown, 21, for seamlessly switching accents, she reflected on the intense online scrutiny.
"That was such a huge thing for a minute," said Brown.

"I actually call it the accent gate because it's so frustrating because that was everywhere," she continued, as per Page Six.
The 'Stranger Things' star added, "Like for a second, everyone was talking about my accent, and they had a real problem about it. And I was like, guys, I'm married to an American."
Brown, who wed Jake Bongiovi, son of Jon Bon Jovi, in May 2024, also shared how easily she adapts to different accents.
"When I'm around his family, I immediately go into, like, an American accent. But then I was just in England, and then the second I hear my mom and dad's accent, I just go right back," said Brown.

Millie Bobby Brown further explained that her speech naturally changes because of her acting experience.
"You want me to be an actor and you want me to play these characters, but you expect me not to morph into people?" said Brown. "What I hear, I do that. It's all part of it."
Brown also revealed why she hates social media. "I have a hard time with social media, I don't like it," said Brown. "Someone else does it for me. I take a picture and send it to someone, and they'll post it for me."
She also shared her feelings about TikTok, stating, "I do not like TikTok, so I am not a fan of TikTok. TikTok is a platform where I see more negative than positive. I'm out of the loop."

“He’s so informative,” she said. “His wisdom is ridiculous. Such a great person.”
