MTG says she’s ‘in talks’ to launch ‘true America-focused’ third party after ditching Trump’s GOP
WASHINGTON, DC: Marjorie Taylor Greene isn't just walking away from the Republican Party; she's looking to build a rival movement that could challenge President Donald Trump's GOP.
The 52-year-old former Republican lawmaker revealed she is “in talks” to launch a “true America-Focused” political party, just a week after leaving the Republican Party.
Once a fixture in Trump's inner political circle, Greene has turned into a vocal opponent, citing frustrations over the administration's handling of the Jeffrey Epstein files and policies she says are not in the best interests of the American people.
Marjorie Taylor Greene says party could align 'serious players from right and left'
The former Georgia Republican, who vacated her seat in January, was appearing for an interview on 'Piers Morgan Uncensored' on Tuesday, June 30, when she revealed that she is contemplating launching a third party that “doesn’t fall into the traps of Democrats and Republicans.”
“There is a group of us that have literally fought the system, and I think there’s a group of us that if we decide to align, we could launch a true America-focused party that doesn’t fall into the traps of Democrats and Republicans, but could align some serious players from the right and the left and move forward,” she said.

Greene made the remarks after Morgan asked whether her ally Tucker Carlson could lead a breakaway faction of the Republican Party.
While she said the two had not discussed the idea, Greene argued Carlson would pose a "great threat" to both the Republican and Democratic establishment if he ever decided to run for office.
“I am in talks with people, and there are serious conversations happening, looking at what the mechanics of that are and the reality of it.”
“I’ll also say this — it’s going to take the American people to get involved, and the American people are the ones who really push campaigns. And so if the American people truly want to give a strong challenge to the failed two-party system of America, then they’re going to have to step up,” she continued.
Marjorie Taylor Greene announces she is ‘done’ with GOP
Greene’s revelation of her plans to launch the third party comes after she climbed aboard Carlson's anti-GOP movement, declaring that she, too, was withdrawing her support from the party.
In a sharp rebuke of its direction, the fierce conservative last week said she could no longer back the GOP, branding it the "America LAST" party.
“Tucker is not the only one who is done supporting the Republican Party. There are a lot of us who are absolutely fed up and will not support a party that betrays its voters and country,” Greene tweeted.

There is A LOT of us that are absolutely fed up and will not support a party that betrays its voters and country.
That does not mean we are turning into Democrats either.
But we are DONE with the America…
“That does not mean we are turning into Democrats either. But we are DONE with the America LAST Republican Party,” she added.
Greene made that announcement right after Carlson made the same pledge. “I would not support the Republican Party. There’s no chance I would support the Republican Party,” Carlson said.
“How could I or any American voter support a political party that’s not loyal to the United States. That puts the interests of a foreign country above those of its own citizens. It’s not possible to vote for people like that, and I’m not going to,” he added.
Carlson was referring to Israel, a country he has been fixated on. He claimed Trump’s 2024 campaign was funded largely by people with “loyalty to Israel” and that is now forcing the president to make decisions that are not in the best interest of the USA.
