LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Now that Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are independent and no longer associated with the royal family, a source said that the couple is considering their alternatives.

"Her royal princess days are over, so she misses the spotlight and attention — and needs the money," an insider remarked.

The two have been involved in various endeavors ever since their lucrative deal with Spotify, reportedly worth $20 million, fell through last summer.

So, will the 42-year-old, who left 'Suits', make another appearance on the small screen?

Recently, the extent of Meghan Markle's ongoing rift with the British monarchy has been speculated upon in light of her absence from the UK at a critical juncture for the royal family.

Meghan stayed in California, but Prince Harry rushed back to the UK to be with his father, King Charles, after the monarch's cancer diagnosis.

Rumors of poor relations within the royal family have been further stoked by this choice, along with by Harry's fairly swift stay and lack of engagement with Prince William.

Meghan Markle 'had conversations about appearing on the new 'Suits' spinoff'

According to Deadline, the Duke and Duchess, who reportedly signed deals worth $20 million in 2020, are reportedly reconsidering them and might look for another home for their content.

Bela Bajaria, Chief Content Officer at Netflix, stated in a conversation: "They have a couple of unscripted things they’re working on with Brandon [Reigg]."

"And they actually have, like, a bunch of development, they have a movie in development, a (scripted) series that they’re working on. So all very early development, with a movie, a TV show and a couple of unscripted shows," Bajaria added.

Even better news for the former actress: TV series 'Suits,' which concluded in 2019, is returning to Netflix.

The insider stated, "Meghan loves that that happened, and she’s had conversations about appearing on the new 'Suits' spinoff. It’s all so exciting!"

PR expert claims Meghan Markle's 'Suits' character might do wonders for her career

Speaking to Daily Express, PR specialist Laura Perkes said that if Meghan did reprise her role as Rachel Zane in 'Suits', it might improve her career.

The wildly popular Netflix courtroom drama ran for seven seasons, from 2011 to 2019, with the Duchess of Sussex playing Rachel Zane. However, she departed in 2018 after relocating to Britain and getting married to Prince Harry.

Perkes stated: "The character of Rachel Zane was relatable, which is what people loved about her."

"By playing the character again, the public will naturally fall back in love with Meghan again and could lead to the big break that she's always wanted since childhood," she added.

The expert revealed that Meghan might get even more celebrity power if she were to appear in a prospective 'Suits' revival.

"Brands don't want to be associated with ambassadors who attract so much negative attention," Perkes continued.

"And while some will believe that all publicity is good publicity, brands don't want to risk their own reputation by aligning themselves with the wrong celebrities or influencers."

In 2023, the show had a boom in popularity that culminated in a new streaming record in the United States. Media researchers Nielsen report that 'Suits' was seen on Netflix for 57.7 billion minutes in total last year.

Abigail Spencer, a friend of Meghan's and former co-star, also commented on the reason behind the show's current success.

During an episode of 'The Jess Cagle Show,' Meghan's friend Abigail Spencer stated, "I think there's several different things. And also Meghan's loveliness, you know, that everyone is aware of her and her being on the show."
