Jake Paul vs Mike Tyson

Jake Paul and Mike Tyson have yet to make their way to the ring for Friday night’s highly anticipated showdown.

The battle will feature the 57-year-old boxing legend, known as "The Baddest Man on the Planet," taking on his opponent, the 27-year-old YouTuber-turned-boxer.

The Paul vs Tyson fight is the night’s main event, followed by a Super Lightweight bout between Katie Taylor and Amanda Serrano in the co-main event. Originally scheduled for earlier this year, the Paul-Tyson fight was postponed until November 15th due to Tyson suffering an ulcer flare-up.

Notably, the event will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, with a staggering 80,000-seat capacity, making it the epicenter of a cultural collision. With a $40 million purse on the line and no title belts at stake, the fight promises to be a historic spectacle.

More than just a boxing bout for Netflix

This is more than just a boxing bout. For Netflix it is reported to be a grand experiment as it tries to make inroads into the realm of live sporting events.

The event is expected to be watched by millions of its subscribers across the globe and much is at stake in terms of what this will mean for their future in live sports. The poor streaming quality and complaints about lagging issues is sure to be a cause of worry for the streaming giant.

To put things into perspective, the event may set a history for viewership record breaches, believes JP Morgan Chase analyst Doug Anmuth. “We believe the Jake Paul vs. Mike Tyson fight could be the most watched boxing match ever,” Anmuth said.

“Given ease of access and Netflix’s large global subscriber base, it should attract Ad Tier subs, viewers, and dollars.”

Another fan slammed Netflix, pointing out the technical flaws: "For the amount of money that they invested in this event, Netflix seriously underestimated how big #PaulTyson would be. The stream has been buffering all night long, and now, it’s even asking me questions like “is your WiFi modem in the same room”. Yeah bro- YOU’RE THE PROBLEM."

Other fans expressed their frustration through humor, like one who posted a GIF of an old man playing music with the caption, "#PaulTyson technical difficulties Buffetting issues enjoy the music while you wait."

Another user summed up the issue with a simple "BRUH!" alongside a tweet saying, "his sh!t is almost unwatchable. Its all pixelated and and buffering every two minutes. #PaulTyson."

Several others echoed similar complaints, with one asking, "Is #PaulTyson pausing and getting stuck at 99% buffering for everyone or just me @netflix?"

Another tweeted, "Netflix is buffering every 10 seconds trying to watch! This is some BS. We all are going to be in the living room watching percentages with circles around them for the rest of the night. #PaulTyson."

One frustrated user concluded, "#netflix #PaulTyson is repeatedly buffering, and not playing more than 30 seconds at a time, running dumb speed tests, my speeds are fine! It's this Livestream.."
