TUCSON, ARIZONA: FBI Director Kash Patel released new videos on Tuesday, February 10, in the search for 'Today' co-host Savannah Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie.
As the investigation entered its tenth day, Patel said the footage was recovered from backend system data after recording devices at the Guthrie home were removed or made inaccessible. The videos appear to show an armed individual tampering with a front-doorbell camera on the morning Nancy disappeared.
For context, the 84-year-old was dropped off at her home outside Tucson, Arizona, on the night of January 31 and was reported missing around midday on February 1.

After releasing the images, Patel shared three newly recovered videos from the camera at Nancy Guthrie’s front door on the morning of her disappearance.

Over the last eight days, the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s Department have been working closely with our private sector partners to continue to recover any images or video footage from Nancy Guthrie’s home that may have been lost,… pic.twitter.com/z5WLgPtZpT
In the first 26-second video, an armed, masked man reaches toward the camera, attempts to block it with his hand, and then steps away to look for something to cover it.
In the second 10-second video, the individual approaches the front door, checks the camera, moves away, picks up vegetation from the ground, and uses it to cover the camera lens.
The final four-second video shows the man looking down as he enters the front door of Nancy Guthrie’s home.
Patel wrote in the caption, “Additional recovered footage, from the same camera - at the same timeline the morning of Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance. This footage is just before the original video shared, with the individual approaching Nancy Guthrie’s front door.”
Savannah Guthrie shared the footage on Instagram on Tuesday, February 10, urging the public to help. “Someone out there recognizes this person,” she said. “We believe she is still out there. Bring her home.”
Expert identifies suspect traits from video
Susan Constantine, who reviewed the newly recovered images, said the footage reveals several important behavioral clues. She noted that the person’s jawline appears puffy, which could indicate beard hair under the mask. She also said the shape of the head and the lack of visible hair suggest the person may be bald.
Constantine pointed out that the backpack appears full, which she said could indicate the person was prepared. She added that the situation does not resemble a robbery gone wrong, as robberies typically involve two or three people with specific roles. So far, FBI images show only one person, and investigators have not identified a motive or confirmed the individual’s role.
Despite the person wearing a mask, Constantine said the video still reveals clear physical traits.
“Even with the mask on, we can still see his eyes, his body structure, his proportions and his gait,” she said. She described him as physically fit and athletic, likely with brown eyes, closely trimmed facial hair, and an olive-toned complexion.
Constantine said the video would have been frightening, especially for an elderly woman. “Can you imagine an 84-year-old woman having someone like that standing over her, wearing a mask?” she asked. She stressed, “The clothing, the gloves, the backpack, those are linkable details.”
The FBI is asking anyone with information about Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance to call 1-800-CALL-FBI.
