NFL WAGs too scared to 'cross' Brittany Mahomes over Trump support amid Taylor Swift's apparent game snub
KANSAS CITY, MISSOURI: As the WAGs are back with the NFL season kicking off successfully, the Kansas City Chiefs side is allegedly witnessing a major dynamic change.
After Taylor Swift and Brittany Mahomes were seen cheering for their respective partners from separate suites at the Arrowhead Stadium during Thursday’s match, sources revealed that other fellow NFL WAGs are too scared of Patrick Mahomes’ wife to “cross her.”
The sources shared that the other Kansas City Chiefs WAGs are not questioning Brittany’s support of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
The 29-year-old courted controversies last month when she liked a series of posts and comments on Instagram praising the veteran politician, subsequently eliciting a ‘Thank you’ post from Trump himself.
NFL WAGs too scared to ‘cross’ Brittany Mahomes over Trump support
Recently, an insider revealed to Daily Mail that though there was an inkling of controversy regarding Brittany’s political stance, the fellow WAGs know it is better not to question her.
Citing Patrick’s continuous success at the NFL, the source shared that nobody really wants to find themselves in a sticky situation with the Chiefs quarterback.
“Patrick is still the darling of the NFL, and as long as he continues to win, no matter what his family does - from Brittany, to his brother, and his dad - Patrick will be fine,” the source shared.
They continued, “Brittany is still in good standing with Patrick, her friends, and the other players' wives.”
“Nobody is going to cross Brittany as she provides so much access and nobody wants to ruffle any feathers with Patrick,” explained the source.
The insider even highlighted that if anyone is willing to talk about the controversy, they will be doing it behind closed doors and won’t confront her face to face.
They explained, “Nobody will ever bring it up during a hangout or at a game,” before adding, “It will not be a thing that is addressed.”
Nevertheless, the sources added as a touch of precaution that while it is still not an issue among the pals of the mother-of-two, her political stance might pose a problem down the line if the Chiefs starts losing.
“If the Chiefs start struggling anytime this year, or have a stretch where they start losing, people will almost certainly look to outside drama as the potential reason,” shared the source ominously.
They continued, “They will jump on that immediately, but as of right now the focus is on the start of the season and trying to get to that three peat. All the other noise is not an issue as of yet.”
Brittany Mahomes is still hanging out with Taylor Swift
After Taylor Swift started dating Patrick’s Kansas City Chiefs colleague Travis Kelce last year, the two blonde beauties became first friends. They were often spotted together at the luxury boxes cheering for their partners.
However, recently after Brittany’s controversy erupted, fans started speculating that the enthusiasm in their bond might have cooled.
Though Taylor has yet to publicly declare her political inclinations for the upcoming election, she has been a vocal critic of Donald Trump in the past and supported his ex-political opponent Joe Biden in the 2020 election.
Thus, speculations regarding the Grammy-winning singer’s current standing with Brittany started circulating on the internet. They got aggravated when Swift and Brittany watched the Chiefs’ NFL opener from separate boxes.
Nevertheless, the source shared that although they cheered from separate boxes, the ‘So High School’ singer and Patrick Mahomes’ wife did hang out together.
Last month, the Mahomes family even attended the illustrious house party thrown by Swift at her Rhode Island beach house to celebrate the ‘Cassandra’ singer’s other pal Blake Lively.
During that time, a separate source shared with Daily Mail, that the high-profile duo had made a pact with each other not to get involved in each other's political stance.
The source shared, “Taylor is not going to be written into this anti-Brittany narrative because they have made a pact to not discuss politics,” before adding, “They both know it can tear apart friendships and they respect that they have different views.”
“Her and Brittany talk about other things and never politics, so Taylor isn't going to let this be a deal breaker for a friendship,” added the source.
