LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sunday night's Golden Globe Awards were meant to be a crowning achievement for Bradley Cooper's passion project 'Maestro' - the film Cooper directed, wrote, starred in and even spent six years learning how to conduct a symphony orchestra.

But instead of accepting a well-deserved trophy, Cooper was subjected to an endless parade of internet memes mocking his shocking shutout.

Despite being nominated in two categories, Cooper went home empty-handed, prompting a viral wave of tweets and posts reveling in the downfall of his ambitious Leonard Bernstein biopic.

Bradley Cooper never won Golden Globe despite six nominations

Cooper hit the red carpet with his mother Gloria Campano, a familiar awards show guest of the actor. Dapper in a double-breasted tuxedo, Cooper escorted Campano, clad in a lace-bodiced black dress.

Cooper seemed poised for glory heading into the 81st Golden Globe Awards. He earned nominations for Best Male Actor in a Drama Motion Picture and Best Director for his work on 'Maestro', the Bernstein biopic he directed, wrote and starred in.

But Cooper's ambitious passion project was no match for Christopher Nolan’s 'Oppenheimer'. Cooper lost the Best Male Actor trophy to 'Oppenheimer' star Cillian Murphy, while Nolan claimed the Best Director award, per Daily Mail.

Despite six nominations over his career, Cooper has never won a Golden Globe. His previous nominations came from films like 'A Star Is Born', 'American Hustle' and 'Silver Linings Playbook' - but each time, Cooper went home empty-handed.

Internet mocks Bradley Cooper's losses at 81st Golden Globes

After Cooper failed to clinch a Golden Globe for 'Maestro', the internet swiftly responded with a series of mocking reactions. One X (formerly Twitter) user sarcastically remarked, "and nothing for Bradley Cooper," coupling the statement with a clip from the 'Barbie' movie featuring Margot Robbie dancing.

Meanwhile, another user humorously depicted Cooper's reaction to Murphy's Best Actor win, writing, "bradley cooper seeing cillian win best actor," with a clip from 'Tar' showing Cate Blanchett pushing a character off the stage.

A third user lamented, "And Bradley Cooper remains awardless." Adding a touch of humor, someone else shared, "Me liking every tweet about Bradley Cooper losing," alongside a clip of seniors continuously pushing buttons on slot machines at a casino.

Adding to the mix, a fifth user portrayed Cooper's reaction while witnessing 'Oppenheimer' sweep the awards, stating, "Bradley Cooper in the audience seeing Oppenheimer sweep," while sharing a photo of his cameo in 'Dungeons & Dragons,' sporting an eerie smile.

Another user highlighted Cooper's intense demeanor, stating, "Bradley Cooper has HATRED in his eyes. He's going to go home and punch a hole in the wall. That was CRAZY." Summing up the sentiment, a seventh user succinctly remarked, "Not a single award for Bradley Cooper."

Bradley Cooper spent 6 years learning orchestra for ‘Maestro’

While the internet delighted in Cooper's misfortune, his dedication to nailing the lead role in 'Maestro' cannot be overstated. At a recent screening alongside co-stars Carey Mulligan and Matt Bomer, Cooper told the audience he spent six full years learning how to conduct an orchestra in preparation for the film, as per Classic FM.

The movie culminates in a live recreation of Bernstein leading a performance of Mahler’s 'Resurrection Symphony No. 2' - an extremely complex classical piece involving a full orchestra, 100-person choir and two soloists.

“I was recorded live, I had to conduct them,” a nervous Cooper told the audience about the pivotal scene shot on location at Ely Cathedral in England. “I spent six years learning how to conduct six minutes and 21 seconds of music,” Cooper revealed.

He studied Bernstein’s actual taped performance at Ely Cathedral relentlessly. “I was able to get the raw take where I just watched Leonard Bernstein at Ely Cathedral ... and so I had that to study,” Cooper told the New York screening crowd.
