Olivia Wilde and Amy Schumer troll Blue Origin space flight: 'Billion dollars bought good memes'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: While Lauren Sanchez made headlines by leading an all-female crew into space, not everyone was impressed by the spectacle.
The Blue Origin mission on April 14, featuring Katy Perry and Gayle King, drew mixed reactions from other stars, who offered sharp and sarcastic commentary on the event.
Amy Schumer and Olivia Wilde used their signature humor to comment on the NS-31 mission in a lighthearted way. Their witty takes shifted focus from the space capsule to the cultural buzz unfolding on social media.
We just completed our 11th human spaceflight and the 31st flight of the New Shepard program. The astronaut crew included Aisha Bowe, Amanda Nguyễn, Gayle King, Katy Perry, Kerianne Flynn, and Lauren Sánchez.

Holding up a Black Panther toy, she quipped, “Guys, last second they added me to space and I'm going to space."
"I'm bringing this thing. It has no meaning to me, but it was in my bag and I was on the Subway, and I got the text and they were like, 'Do you want to go to space?' so I'm going to space," Schumer continued.
Schumer added with her mock excitement, adding, “Thank you to everyone who got me here. I'll see you guys in space.”
Olivia Wilde joins meme frenzy over Blue Origin launch
Olivia Wilde joined in by reacting to a meme that poked fun at the Blue Origin launch.

The meme featured Katy Perry kissing the ground after the crew’s safe return and was captioned, “getting off a commercial flight in 2025,” referencing growing concerns over flight safety.

Adding her remark to the meme, Wilde wrote in her Instagram Stories, “Billion dollars bought some good memes I guess.”
Also, during an April 3 appearance on Today's 'With Jenna & Friends', Olivia Munn joined others in poking fun at the mission’s value.
"What’s the point? Is it historic that you guys are going on a ride? I think it’s a bit gluttonous. Space exploration was to further our knowledge and to help mankind," she said.
"What are they gonna do up there that has made it better for us down here?" she concluded, according to E! News.
