Liam Payne, former One Direction singer, dies at 31 in Argentina

BUENOS AIRES, ARGENTINA: Liam Payne is reportedly dead at age 31 after falling from his hotel building in Argentina.

According to local media reports, the former One Direction band member was confirmed dead by ambulance workers, after he was found in an interior hotel patio in Buenos Aires.

Local newspapers La Nacion and Clarin reported that police were called on Wednesday, October 16, to the Casa Sur hotel after an emergency call was made to the authorities citing "an aggressive man who could be under the effects of drugs and alcohol," per Reuters.

Payne came to the spotlight with the success of the pop band One Direction, along with other budding singers, such as Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan, and Louis Tomlinson.

Payne's ex-fiancee Maya Henry recently took legal action against the singer by sending a cease and desist letter to the artist, alleging persistent contact from him.

She also accused the 31-year-old artist of excessively reaching out to her friends and family, including her mother, Azteca Henry.
