NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Ana Navarro had an unusual request for Canada during Friday’s episode of 'The View'. The host asked the North American country to join the US as the 51st state and help vote President Donald Trump out of office.

The discussion arose as the talk show hosts dissected Trump’s continued fascination with expanding US territory, including his previous interest in acquiring Greenland and his more recent musings about making Canada a state, The Wrap reported.

President Donald Trump reinforced his stance on the US acquiring Greenland recently. "We need Greenland, very importantly for international security," Trump stated at the White House on Friday, March 28.

"We have to have Greenland. It's not a question of, 'Do you think we can do without it?' We can't," he emphasized.

Host Alyssa Farah Griffin wasted no time pointing out a major flaw in Trump’s fantasy.

“Does he realize Canada is to the left of us?” she asked. “A Canadian conservative is way to the left of me, and a Canadian leftist is to the left of people here.”

She then highlighted how Canada’s population would shift the political landscape. “It’s larger than the state of California. So if you imported 40 million Canadians and made them the 51st state, it would be Democratic rule for the next 20 years.”

Navarro took that idea and ran with it, playfully calling on Canada to step up. “Canada, take one for the team!” she joked, before adding, “Please, people, save us!”

Ana Navarro’s recent comment suggesting that Canada should “take one for the team” has sparked major backlash online, with critics taking to social media to slam her remarks and 'The View' as a whole.

One X user said, “She is disgusting,” while another criticized the show itself, saying, “I'm waiting for the new name of The View: The Hate Republicans Squad!! Pay attention and read or watch instead of putting energy toward hate. So sick of them.”

One commenter wrote, “They need to be off the air. Opening their mouths and listening to how stupid they are.”

Another user simply called it the “Stupidest show on television.”

One user angrily remarked, "@ananavarro, YOU ARE A DUMB**S!!! WHY ARE YOU EVEN ON TV?!?!?"

“You're all a complete joke,” one wrote.
