Outrage as Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon seem to dismiss Kim Cattrall's impact on 'And Just Like That'

NEW YORK, NEW YORK: The 'And Just Like That' cast is under fire after a new interview revealed some controversial takes on the character of Samantha Jones, played by Kim Cattrall.
Kristin Davis (Charlotte) and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda) suggested their characters never relied much on Samantha and fans are not having it, The Daily Beast reported.
This confirms my dislike of Cynthia Nixon even more. This goes beyond tv characters… this is pure shade!

Kristin Davis and Cynthia Nixon suggest their 'SATC' characters never needed Samantha’s support

In an interview with Attitude Magazine, Davis dismissed the idea that Charlotte would seek out Samantha in the show's current storyline, noting, “Even in the past, I don’t feel like Charlotte really relied on Samantha that much for support.”
She added that while Charlotte might be “friendly” toward Samantha, there wasn’t a deep emotional bond between them.
“In the beginning especially, sometimes I have these funny episodes, that I look back on where I’m taking care of Samantha. (It’s) fascinating to me because I don’t think Charlotte relied on Samantha that much, so I don’t think she would reach out to her now. But maybe she’d be friendly to her now, I don’t think she has any particular problems with her as such”
Meanwhile, Nixon took an even firmer stance, saying she didn’t believe Miranda would text Samantha even during a pivotal moment like her sexual awakening, which is a core focus of season three.
“I don’t hope that Miranda and Samantha are texting this season, and I don’t think she is looking for Samantha for support when it comes to her sexuality,” Nixon said flatly.

The uproar has reignited speculation about real-life tensions between Kim Cattrall and the rest of the cast. A 2004 Telegraph report alleged a rift began when Sarah Jessica Parker received a producer credit for the 'Sex and the City' movie, prompting Cattrall to negotiate a higher salary - a move that reportedly led to her isolation on set.
'And Just Like That' stars face backlash for downplaying Samantha’s role in 'SATC'

The remarks quickly sparked outrage among longtime fans of 'Sex and the City', who viewed Samantha as a central part of the friend group.
Social media erupted with criticism, with one TikToker noting, “The FIRST person that Miranda would have come out to would have been the literal bisexual: Samantha.”
Another added, “I think these women clearly can't differentiate their personal opinions from the characters of a SHOW. It's disappointing to see how they're rewriting a tv show changing almost everything. In that case I don't get why they didn't just make a new one. I know that people get older and mature, but these characters have gone from cool, unique, special to literally PATHETIC.”
On Reddit, another fan wrote, “Personally, I think it’s insane to downplay the relationships any of the characters had with Sam… She was a CRUCIAL part of the show.”
One commented, “Geez they really can't separate the character Samantha from the actress can they? Obviously they're entitled to their opinions on Kim. But damn man they're rly acting like Sam never mattered in SATC and that's so disingenuous and also....plain weird?”
Others expressed their frustration, with one writing, “This is so disgraceful of Cynthia. Give me a freaking break. Petty mean girl behavior. They called themselves soulmates in the show. SATC would be nothing without Samantha.”
