LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nick Offerman, known for his role as Ron Swanson in 'Parks and Recreation', made his appearance at the "Comics For Kamala" online fundraiser memorable by performing a unique rendition of former President Donald Trump’s rally anthem 'God Bless the USA'.

On Monday, August 5 evening, comedians, politicians, and actors hopped onto a Zoom call to rally support for Vice President Kamala Harris.

Rather than delivering his message through jokes, Nick Offerman chose to perform an original song from the perspective of a reformed Republican voter. The song, set to the tune of Lee Greenwood's 'God Bless the USA', appeared to reflect his disillusionment with the Republican Party.

The actor sang, "So I’m proud to be a Kamala man, who has quit the GOP, because I can’t just abide by a man who’s tried for 34 felonies." He continued, "And I’ll proudly stand up and face the facts that the men that I once cheered are a bunch of wingnut white nationalists… Well, those guys are f*****g weird."

"I don’t mind sex with porn stars. I’d do it too if I had the guts, but when it comes to f*****g the furniture, well that’s just f*****g nuts," further sang Offerman, taking a dig at GOP vice-presidential nominee JD Vance.

During his three-and-a-half-minute performance, the group successfully raised over $12,000 for Harris' campaign.

Despite playing a libertarian character, Ron Swanson, in 'Parks and Recreation', Offerman has been a vocal supporter of progressive candidates.

He supported Bernie Sanders in the past and was openly critical of Trump, labeling him as racist and sexist since 2016. After the 2020 election, he endorsed Elizabeth Warren by sharing a photo of himself with an "I Voted" sticker and the hashtag "#VoteWarren," according to The Wrap.

Offerman sang praises of Harris in his latest number: "I’m proud to be on Kamala’s side, where I know I’ll never see some spray-tanned tool denying a girl her ethnic identity. Kamala’s got momentum, and more importantly, she didn’t hide any nuclear secrets where the Mar-a-Lagos pee."

He concluded by singing, "She’s a POTUS that you could hug, and if he was here, I’d like to crack a beer with future first husband Doug. Trump and Vance, they don’t got a chance — those guys are f*****g weird."

By the end of the event, the participants of "Comics for Kamala" had raised over $450,000, with the final tally exceeding $530,000. The star-studded lineup included Ben Stiller, Mark Hamill, Jon Hamm, and others who helped draw attention and donations to Harris' campaign.

While Nick Offerman's song was well-received among the "Comics For Kamala" participants, supporters of Donald Trump were quick to bash him for setting it to the tune of 'God Bless the USA'.

One wrote, "This is pure, unadulterated cringe!" and another said, "F**k me that Nick Offerman thing is cringe as hell."

"Nothing has ever been less funny than this. In all of human history," remarked a person, with someone else noting, "Ron Swanson would hate Nick Offerman," referring to his character from 'Parks and Recreation'.

One more expressed, "I liked him better in the parks and rec. this new character is pretty cringe," and another person added, "We really don't care honestly your just a nobody like everyone else but somebody made you think you were somebody I guess so who cares byby."

An individual stated, "Wait.. Ron Swason is a boot licker?..sad."

That said, the fundraiser coincided with a boost in Harris’ polling numbers.

According to a Morning Consult poll conducted between August 2 and 4, Harris led Trump 48 percent to 44 percent among registered voters. This 4-point lead marked a record-high margin for Harris and the largest advantage for a Democratic presidential candidate over Trump in nearly a year.
