Outrage as Josh Hawley claims USSS agents protecting Trump from shooter were 'inexperienced'
WASHINGTON, DC: Sen. Josh Hawley (R-Mo) informed the Department of Homeland Security in a letter that informants have stated that Donald Trump's security detail on the day of his assassination attempt was primarily made up of rookie DHS agents and that several standard procedures for such an event were compromised.
The Missouri senator shared a copy of the letter he wrote to Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of Homeland Security, outlining allegations made by whistleblowers within the agency, Blaze Media reported.
Sen Josh Hawley's startling social media post
"Whistleblowers tell me that MOST of Trump’s security detail working the event last Saturday were not even Secret Service," Josh Hawley wrote on X. "DHS assigned unprepared and inexperienced personnel."
According to the letter, the Trump rally on July 13, 2024, was regarded as a "loose" security event by "whistleblowers who have direct knowledge of event."
This meant that "detection canines were not used to monitor entry and detect threats in the usual manner" and that "individuals without proper designations were able to gain access to backstage areas."

Department employees were not regularly stationed around the event's security perimeter
Besides, whistleblowers claimed that "department personnel did not appropriately police the security buffer around the podium and were also not stationed at regular intervals around the event's security perimeter." Moreover, shockingly, informants claimed that the former president's detail did not even consist primarily of Secret Service agents.
"The majority of DHS were not in fact USSS agents but instead drawn from the department's Homeland Security Investigations," Hawley wrote. The letter added that the HSI agents were "unfamiliar with standard protocols typically used at these types of events."
Sen Josh Hawley's burning questions to the DHS secretary
Josh Hawley asked the DHS secretary seven questions in his final letter, beginning with how the agency decided who would staff the event. In addition, he questioned whether DHS agents were adequately trained for gatherings like the one in question and what proportion of them were from HSI as opposed to the regular Secret Service.
The letter also questioned whether the agents surrounding Trump's podium were properly positioned. Possibly the most significant query Hawley posed came last, "How long did agents physically spend on the ground surveying the site before the event?"
Secret Service brass have not lived up to the expectations of the American people when it comes to their explanations of the security lapses surrounding the attempted assassination of President Trump. Kimberly Cheatle, the director of the Secret Service, was captured on camera evading questions on Wednesday from Senators John Barrasso (R-Wyo) and Marsha Blackburn (R-Tenn).

Congressman Hawley also said in his letter that the Senate has "learned more from whistleblowers" than DHS officials. Secretary Mayorkas' only public statements in the six days since the shooting of Trump have been regarding border security.
.@POTUS’s executive actions have led to significant results, with encounters down more than 50% at our Southwest border. The Senate’s bipartisan border security legislation would provide needed resources and durable authorities would further strengthen our border security. https://t.co/fB2b814j95

Internet suspects no arrests made after Donald Trump's shooting to be 'full-scale cover-up'
Netizens were absolutely furious after Josh Hawley made the stunning claims regarding Donald Trump's security personnel present at his rally in Butler, Pennsylvania last Saturday.
The former president narrowly escaped death as the bullet brushed his right year, leaving him bloodied before he was safely ushered off the stage by the security forces.
One X user tweeted, "It’s been 6 days and not 1 person has been held accountable."
Another wrote, "How is this not intentional? Why is there no one in jail yet? Why has no one even been suspended pending investigation? This is a full-scale cover-up."
"They hand picked anti Trump personnel so their plan could be carried out seamlessly… they FAILED!" echoed one user.
"Does this come to a surprise to anyone? I’ve said this was intentional and I’ve seen nothing that will change my mind," remarked one.
Someone else added, "Anyone watching those women unable to handle their firearms can tell they have no clue what they're doing. And they certainly had not been training. They have no muscle memory. They were fools this looks like a Keystone cop situation. Did you see them try to protect Trump? no."
