LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Pamela Anderson is finally speaking out amid growing buzz over claims that Meghan Markle copied her cooking show for the Netflix series 'With Love, Meghan.'

The controversy erupted after fans noticed striking similarities between Markle’s series and Anderson’s 'Cooking with Love,' which debuted earlier this year on Prime Video. Now, Anderson is weighing in on the debate that has been stirring up social media.

Pamela Anderson breaks silence on Meghan Markle's cooking show copycat claims

Pamela Anderson has broken her silence on the viral speculation that Meghan Markle copied her cooking show concept for the Netflix series 'With Love, Meghan.' The topic came up during August 3 episode of 'Watch What Happens Live' with host Andy Cohen on August 3.

Cohen asked Anderson directly: “On a scale from one to 10, how much of a rip-off did you feel like With Love, Meghan was of your show, Pamela's Cooking with Love?”

Anderson shrugged off the controversy, replying: “One. I didn’t—I didn’t really look. But I mean, I didn’t invent cooking shows.” She added that Markle is simply “doing her thing.”

The conversation stems from public comparisons between the two shows, which gained traction when Markle shared some of her personal domestic tips ahead of her series' release in March.

She mentioned that Chinese takeout was one of her go-to meals and said, “I like being able to do a hybrid, but even when I get a takeout I will try to plate it beautifully.”

Meghan also spoke about her new lifestyle brand, 'As Ever,' which followed her unsuccessful attempt to trademark American Riviera Orchard. Reflecting on the process, she admitted, “It's a learning curve. I appreciate everyone who gave me the grace to make mistakes and figure it out and also be forgiving with myself through that.”

Former TV stars Pamela Anderson and Meghan Markle appear in similarly styled cooking shows, laughing and chatting in sunlit, rustic kitchens alongside photogenic friends and well-known celebrities, despite living over a thousand miles apart.

In both series, the women are seen strolling through gardens with wicker baskets filled with freshly picked fruits and vegetables, sharing joyful moments, dancing, and enthusiastically high-fiving their celebrity guests. Notably, each show consists of eight episodes.

The release of 'With Love, Meghan' sparked immediate backlash, with critics accusing her of imitating Anderson’s successful format. While Meghan reportedly filmed her series last summer, releasing the first trailer in January, Anderson’s show, 'Cooking with Love,' was commissioned much earlier, in February 2023, by the Canadian broadcaster Flavour Network. Its trailer had already been available to the public since October of that year.

Internet reacts to Pamela Anderson shutting down claims that Meghan Markle copied her show

Pamela Anderson’s viral interview dismissing claims that Meghan Markle copied her cooking show has sparked a wide range of reactions online.

One user mocked Anderson’s comments, writing, “Pamela also said she really didn’t watch the series? 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣”

Others, however, praised her handling of the situation. “So proud of Pamela. Tired of pitting women against each other,” one supporter wrote.

Another fan added, “I loved the way she shut it down, leaving all the Meghan haters choking on their bile.”

Not everyone agreed, though. One user replied, “Pamela, you’re a class act, but sorry she did copy you, IMO 😂😎.”

Another commented, “The media and their trolls are constantly trying to pit Meghan against other women. I'm happy Pamela didn't take the bait.”

One user on X posted, “Pamela Anderson is confident enough and herself and her own abilities did not even know that Meghan Markle had a show that copied her almost entirely. Pamela Anderson is a class act. The same can't be said for the copycat."
