VANCOUVER, CANADA: Pamela Anderson, renowned for her role on 'Baywatch', left the allure of Hollywood years ago, retreating to Canada for a simpler life away from the limelight.

Settling back on Vancouver Island, where she grew up, the 57-year-old actress sought to reconnect with her roots and reevaluate her life beyond the public eye.

In a recent interview, Anderson revealed that leaving Hollywood was her way of remembering “who I was,” a journey she describes as a profound “homecoming.”

Pamela Anderson’s path from Hollywood to secluded Canadian island retreat

Born on July 1, 1967, in British Columbia, Canada, Pamela Anderson began making headlines early, starting with her being Canada’s first centennial baby.

She grew up in Comox where she attended Highland Secondary School and earned the nickname "Rubber Band" for her athleticism on the volleyball court.

At 22, Anderson moved to Vancouver, where her career took off after she was spotted on the big screen at a Canadian Football League game.

Her popularity led to her being signed as a spokesmodel for a Canadian brewery, which soon opened doors to Los Angeles and an iconic Playboy cover.

Anderson's move to Hollywood launched a successful career, with her starring in 'Home Improvement' in 1991 and later in 'Baywatch', where she played CJ Parker alongside David Hasselhoff.

Her fame skyrocketed, leading to multiple film and television roles as Hello! Magazine noted.

Pamela Anderson's move back to her roots in Canada

Amid her rising career, Pamela Anderson had a volatile marriage with musician Tommy Lee between 1995-98. They have two sons, Brandon Thomas, and Dylan Jagger.

In the same year, the private video of the couple was stolen leading her to attempt suicide attempt and a miscarriage. She hit the low point and her action comedy 'Barb Wire' didn't do as expected.

She then moved on with Kid Rock in 2006 who she divorced just after four months. She also dated French footballer Adil Rami from 2017 to 2019.

She was also shortly wed to Hollywood producer Jon Peters in 2020.

In the same year, she married bodyguard Dan Hayhurst which ended in divorce on Christmas Eve in 2022.

She lived in France for two years before finally deciding to sell her Malibu home and settle in Canada in 2020.

The decision also brought her back to a motel her grandmother once owned, a place with deep sentimental ties.

“I came to a point where I decided to move home and disappear and get into my garden,” Anderson told People in August, sharing how her grandfather’s passion for gardening inspired her.

The property, once deteriorating, was revived with her own hands. “I mean, you should see the before pictures,” Anderson said.

“It was decayed and rotten to the ground. I lived in another little house on the beach that I had that was livable," she added.

Pamela Anderson’s new beauty line inspired by her rose garden

Immersed in nature, Pamela Anderson has since found fulfillment in a simpler lifestyle, making her rosehip oil, salt scrubs, and candles.

She channeled her creativity into launching Sonsie Skin, a beauty line inspired by her rose garden.

The new cleanser, Cleansing Mousse, is a sensitive skin face wash infused with rosehip essence inspired by flowers in her garden.

“I start each day when I’m home in my rose garden, so I felt, ‘How do I bring that with me?’” she explained to WWD in a latest interview.

“I do make a rose hip oil, and I wanted to bring that into the skincare line," she added.

Reflecting on her journey, Anderson said, “I guess a homecoming, you could say, to really kind of look at my life and remember who I was — not what other people were telling me I was,” the 'Stacked' star shared told the publication.

“And I didn’t want anything that had happened to me define me,” she added. “I wanted what I do to define me… all these realizations came to me in the rose garden.”
