NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Pedro Pascal has taken a firm and unapologetic stance against 'Harry Potter' author JK Rowling’s continued support for anti-trans legislation in the UK, calling her actions “heinous LOSER behavior” in a sharp Instagram comment posted on April 23.

Pascal was responding to a reel shared by activist Tariq Ra’ouf, who condemned Rowling’s reaction to the recent UK Supreme Court ruling, which clarified that terms like “woman” and “sex” in the Equality Act refer specifically to biological women and biological sex.

The court’s ruling has sparked outrage from LGBTQ+ advocates and allies who say it further marginalizes transgender people.

Tariq Ra’ouf didn’t mince words in his video, calling JK Rowling’s behavior “some serious Voldemort villain s**t,” and accusing the author of using her platform to stoke fear and hatred toward a vulnerable community, The Wrap reported.

“She’s just so proud of all the work she’s been doing over the last few years to stoke hatred and fear into the general public about a very small minority population that’s already some of the most misunderstood people on the earth,” Ra’ouf said.

Pascal echoed the sentiment, writing, “Awful disgusting S**T is exactly right. Heinous LOSER behavior.”

The actor has long been a vocal supporter of the transgender community, a commitment that’s deeply personal.

Just days before his Instagram comment, Pascal appeared at the London premiere of 'Thunderbolts' on April 22 wearing a T-shirt that read "Protect the Dolls."

It is a statement of solidarity with trans women, who are frequently targeted by transphobic rhetoric and policies.

In February, Pascal summed up his position clearly: “I can’t think of anything more vile and small and pathetic than terrorizing the smallest, most vulnerable community of people who want nothing from you, except the right to exist.”

Nicola Coughlan joins backlash against JK Rowling

The uproar came after JK Rowling, who has courted controversy for years with her views on gender identity, tweeted a cigar-smoking photo of herself alongside the Supreme Court hashtags and the line: “I love it when a plan comes together," a reference to The A-Team’s Hannibal Smith.

Many saw it as a celebratory moment from Rowling regarding a decision that, in their view, further alienates and endangers trans people in the UK.

However, Pascal isn’t the only star speaking up.

'Bridgerton' actress Nicola Coughlan took to Instagram Stories to share an article from The Cut that criticized Rowling’s stance and wrote: “Keep your new ‘Harry Potter’ lads. Wouldn’t touch it with a 10 foot pole.”
