MOUNT POCONO, PENNSYLVANIA: A single working mother expressed strong support for President Donald Trump’s “No Tax on Tips” policy, saying it will help her cover her daughter’s school expenses.

Donna thanked Trump and said that even small income gains can make a big difference for working families. Her remarks came on Wednesday, December 10, at the “Lower Prices, Bigger Paychecks” podium.

Trump has signed what he calls the largest package of tax cuts in US history. The plan includes No Tax on Tips, No Tax on Overtime, and No Tax on Social Security, initiatives aimed at increasing take-home pay and delivering relief for millions of workers during tax season.

Single mom praises Trump’s tax-free tips policy

Donna began by saying, "I am a single Mom, who has lived in Pennsylvania for the past 20 years, and I've been a waitress."

She went on to describe how she entered the workforce as a teenager. "All my life started when I was 15 years old. I've always enjoyed it and used used to waitressing made good money, but lately my money doesn't mean to stretch that far."

She said high costs have made it difficult to live her life. "Pretty much everything I make goes towards paying the bills with taxes these days, though there's nothing in my paycheck."

Pointing to the financial reality many face, she added, "A lot of people don't realize this, but for servers. Almost our entire income is from the tips we earn from satisfied customers. And you know, I'm sure there are a lot of people like me out there in this audience and even or even more of you watching this."

She also addressed broader economic frustration. "People who felt like they can't get up something. Sometimes, especially. Under the Biden Administration."

The mother said next year will be different because of the new policy. "It was hard to keep up with the bills or afford any basic things when there just isn't enough money to go around.

"Next year, it's going to be different, though, because next year, I'm going to get my taxes back from the tips I earn," she said. "Thanks to President Trump and the congressman."

She highlighted how meaningful the law will be in her daily life. "No taxes on tips was passed. For me, that's the difference between paying my electricity bill in full or in instalments."

The changes, she said, will directly benefit her daughter. "This is going to change a lot for me and my daughter, Fatima." With the policy in place, she added, "I have to brag on her for a second. With no taxes on tips, I'll have extra money in my pocket to help with her tuition."

She closed by reflecting on what the relief means for her family. "I'm going to help her live her dream as a mom, that's what you want for your child." She ended with gratitude: "I'm really thankful to be here and thankful to know we got people who care about putting money in our pockets."
