'Perfect response': Nikki Haley's husband Major Michael Haley posts sarcastic meme after Trump's dig at him
WASHINGTON, DC: Maj. Michael Haley, the husband of Republican presidential candidate Nikki Haley, responded to former President Donald Trump's mocking remarks about his absence from his wife's campaign by sharing a biting meme on social media, reported Meidiate.
The former first gentleman of South Carolina, a commissioned officer in the South Carolina Army National Guard, has been on a year-long deployment since June 2023 with the 218th Maneuver Enhancement Bridge in the Horn of Africa.
Trump on February 10 insulted Nikki and her husband during a rally speech in South Carolina. "Where's her husband? Oh, he's away. He's away. What happened to her husband? What happened to her husband? Where is he? He's gone. He knew. He knew," the Republican frontrunner said.
Responding to the insult, Michael took to X and shared a meme featuring a wolf's face that read, "The difference between humans and animals? Animals would never allow the dumbest ones to lead the pack."
He also tagged Trump, the GOP, and some prominent media outlets.
Biden defends Nikki Haley after Trump's attack
The former South Carolina governor received support from President Joe Biden despite their political differences after Trump's offending remarks about her husband's whereabouts.
Sharing a video clip of his predecessor's speech, Biden wrote on X, "The answer is that Major Haley is abroad, serving his country right now. We know he thinks our troops are 'suckers,' but this guy wouldn't know service to his country if it slapped him in the face."

Nikki also slammed the former President while speaking at a campaign stop in South Carolina. "Donald, if you have something to say, don't say it behind my back. Get on a debate stage and say it to my face," she challenged.
She further added that Trump does not deserve to be the President of the United States for mocking the service of a combat veteran.
The GOP frontrunner's latest remarks add to his history of being disrespectful to army veterans. He recently drew flak over reports of allegedly insulting fallen American soldiers, labeling them 'suckers and losers'. In another instance, he mocked late Senator John McCain's injury he sustained as a prisoner of war.
Trump will next face Nikki in the February 24 primary in the latters's home state, South Carolina, where he leads with a clear majority.
