BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS: In the wake of a shocking onstage incident during a Jane's Addiction concert, Perry Farrell's wife, Etty Lau Farrell, has confirmed that the iconic singer is seeking medical care.
The altercation, which occurred earlier this month in Boston, saw Perry, 65, deliver a punch to his bandmate Dave Navarro, 57, leading to the cancellation of the remainder of their Imminent Redemption tour.

Taking to Instagram Etty Lau, 49, addressed the fallout from the confrontation, stating, “We are taking a bit of time to ourselves, to reflect and to heal,” on Saturday, September 22. She further revealed that Perry has already scheduled appointments with both an otolaryngologist and a neurologist, specialists focused on the ears, nose, throat, and brain, respectively.

Etty emphasized that those close to Perry understand the complexities of the situation, saying, “If you know and love Perry well, you know there’s no need for me to address the other false narratives. Our souls know.” Reflecting on the shocking physical outburst, she expressed, “We are equally astonished at Perry’s physical outburst as you are—but you must know that Perry must have been pushed to his absolute limit… to that end we apologize.”
Etty also conveyed heartfelt gratitude for the overwhelming support from friends and fans "checking in over and over again to make sure we are well taken care of" during this challenging time. She assured followers that Perry will “persevere,” “recover,” and “be happy again,” reiterating that he will return to sharing his music and artistry “unbridled.”
Etty concluded her message with a hopeful sentiment, “Make no mistake, when he’s ready, he will take another giant leap over obstacles to make us laugh, think, while changing the world together then. In a statement, Jane's Addiction offered a “heartfelt apology” to fans, announcing their decision to take a break as a group. “To all the fans, the band have made the difficult decision to take some time away as a group,” they stated. "As such, they will be canceling the remainder of the tour."
Perry himself took to Instagram Stories to reflect on the weekend's turmoil, saying, “This weekend has been incredibly difficult, and after having the time and space to reflect, it is only right that I apologize to my bandmates, especially Dave Navarro, fans, family, and friends for my actions during Friday's show.” He acknowledged, “Unfortunately, my breaking point resulted in inexcusable behavior, and I take full accountability for how I chose to handle the situation.”
