Phil Mickelson strongly opposes Ilhan Omar

Minnesota congresswoman Ilhan Omar is in the news for controversial statements about Charlie Kirk and his legacy. Her opinion was contested and opposed by many.

In a fiery post on X, six-time major champion Phil Mickelson accused Omar of spreading hate and suggested she had entered the US “fraudulently.”

Mickelson went further, writing that he hoped the lawmaker should be “sent back to Somalia soon.”

The golfer spoke out after seeing a clip of Omar standing by her comment that compared Kirk to “Dr Frankenstein."

Omar’s comments on CNN drew criticism, but she stood firm and repeated her stance. She said publicly Kirk should be left "in the dust bin of history."

This made Mickelson post: “Ilhan spews hate every time she opens her mouth, she came here fraudulently and will hopefully be sent back to Somalia soon.”

Her sharp rebuke comes just as Kirk is being honored with a high-profile funeral service.

What did Nancy Mace say about Ilhan Omar?

Republican US Representative Nancy Mace couldn’t contain her anger after Ilhan Omar shared her opinion about Charlie Kirk.

Mace herself didn’t mince words, telling Omar she should be “deported back to Somalia.”

Mickelson reposted Mace's X post comment, showing support.

She also took to social media and wrote: “Ilhan Omar mocked the cold-blooded assassination of an innocent American husband and father. She’s supported ISIS. She’s supported the Muslim Brotherhood. She’s incited political violence. And tonight, Congress protected her.”

She also said: “I am not going to sit here and be judged for not wanting to honor any legacy this man has left behind, that should be in the dustbin of history, and we should hopefully move on and forget the hate that he spewed every single day.”

After receiving hate, she said her comments were taken out of context and described Kirk’s death as “mortifying.”
