BATON ROUGE, LOUISIANA: Ryan Anderson, the estranged husband of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, has opened up about the emotional pain of their ongoing divorce, admitting that he never wanted their relationship to end.
In an exclusive statement to Us Weekly on November 7, Anderson, 38, expressed regret over the separation, revealing that he had envisioned spending his life with Gypsy.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard's ex-husband Ryan Anderson reveals he wanted to spend his life with her
"I just want to say, 'Was I given a choice?’ After what has happened, she hasn’t really given me any other option but to try and move on,” Ryan Anderson said. “I married her because I wanted to spend my life with her. Gypsy was all I ever wanted.”
Gypsy and Anderson first connected in 2020 through letters, during Gypsy's incarceration for her involvement in the murder of her mother, Dee Dee Blanchard. Despite the difficult circumstances surrounding her conviction, Gypsy described the relationship as a source of emotional support during the pandemic. Their bond strengthened over time, and in July 2022, they married.
However, just months after Gypsy's release from prison in December 2023, the couple announced their separation.
Gypsy later shared her personal struggles with fans on Facebook, revealing that she had moved back in with her parents to take time for herself. “I am learning to listen to my heart. Right now I need time to let myself find who I am,” she wrote.
Shortly after their split, rumors began swirling about Gypsy rekindling her romance with ex-fiance Ken Urker. By April, it was confirmed that they had reunited, and in July 2024, Gypsy announced she was expecting a child.
The rapid progression of Gypsy’s new relationship has further complicated the end of her marriage to Ryan, who is still grappling with the emotional fallout.
Gypsy Rose Blanchard reveals paternity of her baby
Gypsy Rose Blanchard has put an end to ongoing rumors about the paternity of her unborn child by publicly revealing the results of a pre-birth paternity test. On November 5, she shared the news on Instagram, confirming that her boyfriend, Ken Urker, is the father of their baby girl.
Gypsy posted the paternity test results alongside a heartfelt message, stating, “There’s been a lot of chatter around the paternity of our baby and while we’ve known for sure from the beginning, I feel that it’s finally time to put all these theories to rest.”

She went on to express her excitement about Ken becoming a father, adding, “Ken is going to be an incredible dad and we are so excited to welcome our baby girl into the world.”
While Gypsy and her estranged husband, Ryan Anderson, have been separated since March 2024, their legal marriage still poses a potential issue regarding the birth certificate.
According to Louisiana law, if the couple remains married for 300 days prior to the birth, Ryan Anderson would be listed as the father on the official document. However, Gypsy has made it clear that Ken is the biological father, settling any doubts surrounding the situation.
Gypsy’s announcement also included a shout-out to the testing lab, @fastestlabsofmetairie, and a nod to Ken.
