Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to miss Trooping the Colour for second year in a row in major royal snub
LONDON, ENGLAND: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle won't be making an appearance for the yearly Trooping the Colour as they have been excluded from the royal event for the second year in a row.
According to PEOPLE magazine, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex will not be participating in the military procession this year, just like their absence in 2023 after King Charles III's coronation.
Trooping the Colour is an annual parade that has marked the reigning monarch’s official birthday celebration for over 260 years.
Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were left out of Trooping the Colour for second time
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have not received an invitation to the annual June 15 celebration of the British monarch's birthday in London, per PEOPLE.
Moreover, they were not invited to the 2023 Trooping the Colour, which was the first to be held under Harry's father, King Charles, and were also shut out of several major royal events.
The couple participated in Trooping the Colour together in 2018, one month after their royal wedding.
They last attended it in 2022 when they had to return to London for Queen Elizabeth II's platinum jubilee celebration. They did not, however, join the royal family on the balcony of Buckingham Palace as they had in previous years.
Along with other non-working royals, Harry and Meghan watched the festivities from a room over the Horse Guards Parade, including the military parade down The Mall and the Royal Air Force's aerial display over London.
Three months after the Queen's death, Prince Harry (without Meghan) attended the coronation of his father in May 2023, but was absent at the Trooping the Colour a month later.
In 2023, Charles and Prince William participated in their first Trooping the Colour as monarchs, with Queen Camilla and Kate Middleton waving to the assembled throng from a carriage, per Fox News.
Furthermore, it was revealed that King Charles, who is undergoing cancer treatment this year, will attend the event. He will accompany Queen Camilla in a horse-drawn vehicle rather than riding a horse as he did in the past.
Since resigning from their positions as members of the royal family in 2020, Prince Harry, 39, and Meghan, 42, have made California their home.

Others took to Facebook to address the Duke and Duchess of Sussex as one exclaimed, "They should have expected this when they publicly rejected their royal family with ludicrous accusations and complaints."
"I don’t think they will ever be invited again. It’s probably time to let go of his old life as his strained relationship with his father and brother," suggested another one.
"What part of “ they consciously stepped away from family “ don’t people understand. This was THEIR decision!" exclaimed one.
Another remarked, "I don’t know why that’s a shock…they didn’t want to be a part of all that. You make it sound like they were snubbed. They don’t want to be active royals…."
