LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prince Harry and Meghan Markle visited the Pasadena Convention Center to meet with victims of the wildfires raging in Los Angeles and the first responders on Friday, January 10, reported the New York Post.

The place has become an evacuation site for victims of the Eaton fire in nearby Altadena. According to the publication, the visit by the Duke and Duchess of Sussex was not planned. Instead, they tried to make a meaningful difference without causing disruption.

Insiders shared that Prince Harry and Meghan Markle focused on supporting the victims and first responders both mentally and physically at the scene. They began their visit by serving meals alongside volunteers from chef Jose Andres’ World Central Kitchen outside the center along with Jennifer Siebel Newsom, the First Partner of California. Going inside, they interacted with the families affected by the tragedy, especially the elderly victims.

They later returned to the venue to meet with Jose Andres himself. Harry and Meghan shared their appreciation of all the teams working tirelessly to support the community and expressed their commitment to the recovery and rebuilding efforts.

Pasadena Mayor Victor Gordo later told reporters about the royal visit, "They didn’t come out here for publicity; they came out here to work."

"We went to visit some of the families in the impacted area and view first hand some of the impacted area. And then they wanted to go visit the first responders and personally thank them for their efforts to help our families and our neighbors. They really buoyed the spirits of the first responders," he added.
