Prince Harry 'desperately searching' for role while juggling celebrity and royal life, says expert
LONDON, ENGLAND: Prince Harry's career is about to take a new turn. However, his recent emphasis on humanitarian causes might conflict with his past of releasing quite discouraging items.
Royal editor Richard Eden has currently examined Harry's path during the Duke of Sussex's tour of southern Africa. He also criticized Harry's recent visit on Jimmy Fallon's show and claimed that Prince William would not have made the same appearance.
Prince Harry continues to walk extremely fine line between 'celebrity and royalty'
Richard currently serves as the Daily Mail's Editor at large and remarked in answer to a query regarding the role that Firm members ought to fulfill, per The Express.
Speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast, Richard discussed Harry's current position and perception in both Africa and the United States.
He said, "Harry is treading this very difficult line between celebrity and royalty still…he looked very dignified in Lesotho but it’s a country he’s got a lot of connection with. But back in America, he's still tried to play the royal jester, the joker when he goes on these talk shows."
Richard remarked of William, "I think his brother would never do anything like that or if he did it would be much more controlled. I suspect that Harry is still desperately searching for some kind of role."
Richard also discussed whether or not members of the Royal Family served as statesmen, stateswomen, or in other capacities.
"I have this issue about whether members of the Royal Family are statesmen, they’re not statesman or stateswomen, they’re ceremonial figures, that’s all they are," he remarked.
His remarks came after Harry's visit on 'The Tonight Show,' where the 40-year-old Duke and the famous TV host made their way through a spooky maze, as reported by The Express.
During the clip, Harry was heard swearing and running as he confronted many scary and terrible items of the maze that gave the prince quite a fright.

Richard Eden was among those who disapproved of Harry's TV appearance and who joined Richard Kay on the podcast. He said: "It was sort of quite amusing, but royal families should just not do light entertainment."
Prince Harry's solo excursions have boosted his brand, claims expert
Amid reports that Prince Harry is professionally separating himself from Meghan Markle, royal insiders claimed that Harry's excursions to New York, London, and Lesotho have boosted his brand, per OK! Magazine.
Harry's military service and HIV/AIDS campaign work were praised before he moved to California, and his recent public appearances served as a reminder to critics of his past before "Megxit."
Royal expert Richard Fitzwilliams told GB News, "I think all these events have gone off tremendously well. They've been uncontroversial. He hasn't given any interviews. Perhaps something is being planned that we are unaware of."
"His next docuseries for Netflix on polo apparently doesn't feature him much, so what we're waiting to see is how this will be developing in the weeks and months," Fitzwilliams noted.
He said, "Will there be some more tours? They've been, of course, to Nigeria and he and Meghan most recently to Latin America."
"So is this part and parcel of a new strategy? Whereas Meghan develops her cooking side on Netflix, and Harry does more solo," Fitzwilliams said about Meghan's culinary series.
While some have lambasted Harry for participating in chat shows, the prince has been doing major humanitarian work in recent weeks. He attended the WellChild Awards in London and worked with a foundation he co-founded in the 2000s in the African country of Lesotho.
Prince Harry and Prince Seesio first co-founded the charity, Sentebale, to assist youth. It currently assists individuals in Botswana and Lesotho.
