LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prince Harry once again landed himself in a wave of speculations surrounding his hair after a royal commentator claimed the Duke of Sussex might have undergone a "vanity transplant" over a photo uploaded on the BetterUp website.

The 40-year-old British royal, who currently lives in Montecito with his wife, Meghan Markle, and their two children - Archie and Lilibet, might have a strained relationship with his family back in the UK, but he has not avoided inheriting the royal men’s perpetual problem of balding head, which also plagues his elder brother, Prince William, 42.

While for the last few months, King Charles’ younger son was in the spotlight for his thinning thatch on the crown, the recent photo published by the mental health tech start-up BetterUp, where he serves as Chief Impact Officer, left the experts scratching their heads as he seemed to sport a full head of hair, as per RadarOnline

Royal commentator says Prince Harry had a 'Photoshop hair transplant' after seeing BetterUp website photo

Thanks to his public persona, the prince (and his hair) often find themselves in the center of the spotlight. Thus, as BetterUp’s website was updated recently with a new photo of the Duke of Sussex, several experts weighed on the royal’s struggle with hair.

A royal commentator shared, as reported by RadarOnline, "He's had a Photoshop hair transplant. Talk about a vanity transplant, bless him."

On the other hand, a hair expert suggested that the prince might have undergone a hair transplant between 2016 and 2017.

They explained, "The reason for this suspicion is that Harry’s hair looked much fuller in 2017, with his receding hairline being much more forward than before."

"All of this suggests he opted for some hair loss treatment – and a hair transplant is the one that offers the best chance of success. Since then, Harry’s hair has thinned out a little more, with his crown hair loss becoming more noticeable (particularly thanks to the constant cameras)," the expert added.

Referencing the balding pattern seen in the men of the royal family, they noted, "This isn’t entirely surprising even if he got a hair transplant, as he likely targeted the temples with his hair transplant in 2016/17, but then later experienced more hair loss at the crown, which is part of his genes."

Prince Harry once said his brother Prince William's baldness was 'alarming'

Just a month back, Prince Harry’s burgeoning bald spot stole the show in the critically panned Netflix docuseries, 'Polo'. It also marked the 40-year-old joining the ranks of his brother - the Prince of Wales - in their fight against baldness.

In his bombshell memoir, 'Spare', Harry acknowledged both his and his brother’s struggle, while claiming that William’s thinning hair was "alarming."

As reported by Vanity Fair, the duke also noted that William’s thinning was more "advanced than mine."

Hair expert Dr Asim Shahmalak harbors a similar opinion as the prince as he said Harry is balding at a slower rate than the heir apparent to the British throne and is about 10 years behind his elder sibling in terms of hair loss.

Dr Shahmalak claimed, "The baldness gene is not as strong in Harry but he is still losing his hair quickly. At present most of Harry's hair loss is around the crown area."

"He has a growing bald patch right across his crown and you can also see that his hair is also thinning out towards the front. Harry may never be as bald as his brother William. William has been more affected than any of the royal men," the British surgeon added.
