Prince Harry 'no longer cares' to repair rift with royal family despite past claim of 'reconciliation'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Prince Harry appears to have distanced himself from the idea of mending his relationship with the royal family, despite past statements about wanting to heal his rift with King Charles and other members.
According to an insider close to the Duke of Sussex, Harry’s stance has shifted, with the source revealing, “He doesn’t care anymore. It’s over. He knew exactly what he was doing. He wants to make it impossible to go back,” reports OK Magazine.
Prince Harry no longer interested in 'reconciliation' with royal family, claims source

This revelation follows Harry's comments during an interview earlier this month where he expressed a desire to reconcile with his father, admitting, “Life is precious. I don’t know how much longer my father has. He won’t speak to me because of this security stuff. But it would be nice to reconcile.”
However, sources suggest his words may be more complicated than they appear, with some questioning whether Harry truly intends to bridge the gap.
Harry’s recent remarks have fueled criticism, with royal expert Joe Little stating, “If Harry truly wanted peace with his father and brother, the one thing he should’ve done is shut up.”
Little pointed out that sometimes saying nothing can be the most dignified approach, something Harry doesn’t often embrace.
“There’s so much to be gained by maintaining a dignified silence. Sadly, that’s never been Harry’s way. It sends a mixed message. Is Harry suggesting the King isn’t as well as we’re being told? This may have been his last shot. And he missed it.”

The strained relationship between Harry and the royal family intensified after he and his wife, Meghan Markle, stepped down from their senior royal roles in 2020 and relocated to California.
The couple's decision to disengage from royal duties, coupled with Harry’s legal battle for reinstating his security detail, has led to growing tensions.
Prince Harry left 'devastated' as rift with royal family deepens
Prince Harry has opened up about his emotional response to the recent court decision denying his request to reinstate taxpayer-funded security for his family while in the UK, a ruling that has only deepened his ongoing rift with the royal family.
In a candid interview earlier this May, the Duke of Sussex described his reaction to the legal outcome as “devastated,” emphasizing the implications not only for his safety, but also for his family’s well-being.
“I’m sure there are some people out there, probably most likely the people that wish me harm, who consider this a huge win. Everybody knew that they were putting us at risk in 2020,” Harry said.
“They hoped that me knowing that risk would force us to come back.”
Harry posed a heartfelt question, “But then, when you realize that didn’t work, do you not want to keep us safe? Whether you’re the government, the Royal Household, whether you’re my dad, my family despite all of our differences, do you not want to just ensure our safety?”

Shortly after the court’s decision made headlines, Meghan Markle appeared to respond in her own way. The Duchess of Sussex posted a quiet but powerful family image on Instagram, featuring Harry with their children, Prince Archie, 5, and Princess Lilibet, 3. The photo was uploaded without a caption and with the comments turned off.
