But sources are now claiming that William has gone back to Rose even as his wife fights her cancer battle, as per RadarOnline.

Kensington Palace has firmly dismissed the persistent gossip as “totally wrong and false".

An insider close to the royal family expressed dismay over the timing of these rumors, stating, “It’s horrendous for Kate that these rumors don’t go away. Especially now that she’s sick.”

In his book 'Endgame', royal expert Omid Scobie noted that Rose had "one or two suppers with William in Norfolk while Kate was away", emphasizing that Kate was grateful for Rose's companionship during her absence. The insider clarified that these meetings were purely platonic, adding, “William has had meetings with Rose Hanbury. They’re friends, and he finds it diabolical that people would suggest otherwise.”

The affair rumors were further fueled by late-night host Stephen Colbert, who joked about the alleged infidelity following Kate's Mother's Day photoshop controversy. “Oh no. My heart goes out to poor Kate. Now let’s dish the hot goss, I am ready to spill the tea!” Colbert quipped on his show.

In March, Rose Hanbury broke her silence to publicly deny the allegations, with her attorneys declaring, “The rumors are completely false.”

There’s also some suggestion William wouldn’t want to talk about this topic for fear it would bring bad memories for Charles. If it were up to Camilla, she would tell William to stow the rumors and focus on more pressing matters.”

Despite being married to Princess Diana and having an affair with Camilla behind his wife's back, King Charles also had a fling with entrepreneur Sue Townsend, as mentioned in his biography, 'Prince Charles: The Passions and Paradoxes of Improbable Life', written before he took the throne after his mother's death.

According to palace insiders, Camilla was humiliated and enraged by the shocking claim. At the time, the source said she was "absolutely incensed".

"She always believed she had Charles very much under her thumb."

"The idea he had the hots for another woman — especially one described as a younger, prettier Camilla look-alike — sent her into a jealous frenzy," a source said.
