Reba McEntire’s son Shelby welcomes first baby with wife Marissa, reveals newborn’s name
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Reba McEntire has become a grandmother again as her son, Shelby Steven McEntire Blackstock, recently welcomed a baby boy with his wife, Marissa.
Shelby shared the happy news through a series of Instagram Stories on Wednesday, October 21.

One of his posts read, “After everything it took to get here, we finally get to call ourselves mom and dad. We’ve been taking these first few weeks just for us and there’s nowhere else we’d rather be."
Another post showed the 36-year-old holding his baby boy close to his chest. In the caption, the proud father revealed his son's name: Shelby Archer McEntire Blackstock.
The final slide featured a short clip of the newborn, with Shelby writing, “He had a rough first week, but at least he had the look down.”
Marissa reveals newborn son’s nickname Archie
Marissa, who married Shelby in 2022, also shared photos announcing the arrival of their baby.
One photo posted to her Instagram Story showed her appearing to breastfeed the baby. She also revealed that her son’s nickname is “Archie”.
Shelby and Marissa announced their pregnancy in April. At the time, they shared a joint social media post that read, “Oh, BOY! We’re beyond excited to FINALLY announce our little man is coming in October. See ya real soon, pal! Mommy + Daddy love you!."
Marissa shares IVF journey before pregnancy announcement
A few months before announcing her pregnancy in April, Marissa revealed that she was undergoing her second round of IVF treatment.
In January 2026, she wrote on Instagram, “Second round of IV, The love, messages, prayers, and support from friends and this community have been overwhelming in the best way.”
“I wish I could thank every single person personally. Just know we feel it, and we’re so grateful. Infertility is hard, but we don’t feel alone,” she added at the time.
Shelby Archer McEntire Blackstock is McEntire’s first biological grandchild. She is also the step-grandmother of the late Brandon Blackstock’s two children with Kelly Clarkson, a daughter, River, 12, and a son, Remy, 10.
The legendary singer was married to Shelby’s father, Narvel Blackstock, from 1989 to 2015. During their marriage, she also became the stepmother of Brandon, Narvel’s son with Elisa Gayle Ritter.

In August, Shelby paid tribute to his late stepbrother. He wrote, “It’s been one year since we lost you… a void that can never be filled. It still doesn’t feel real. Sometimes it feels like we’re all just busy and overdue for a catch-up call. Then reality hits all over again. It’s a painful reminder every single day.”
The race car driver also said he wished Brandon could have met his baby.
“But in a way, I like to think you already have. I’ll do my best to pass along everything you taught me. Lucky for him, his teacher is more handsome, taller, fitter, faster, and definitely smarter… I still might not out-hunt you just yet, but I’m working on it,” he added.
