WASHINGTON, DC: Robert F. Kennedy Jr and his wife Cheryl Hines caught social media’s attention for their down-to-earth travel choice. Instead of flying private, the couple boarded a commercial flight and joined other passengers in economy class.

A TikTok clip shows them walking onto the plane separately and settling in among fellow travelers, offering a rare and relatable glimpse of high-profile figures. The video quickly went viral on X (formerly Twitter), with many praising their modest and normal behavior.

Robert F. Kennedy Jr and his wife, Cheryl Hines, recently caught people’s attention for taking a surprisingly modest approach to travel. A viral video shows Kennedy briefly talking to airport staff before heading toward the gate.

Next, the clip takes viewers inside the plane, where Kennedy sits by the window and Hines takes the middle seat, blending in with other travelers.

Their outfits reflect a mix of style and comfort — Kennedy in a sharp blue suit and Hines in a casual grey sweater. In the video, they appear unaware of the camera, quietly going about their travel without fuss or fanfare.

Interestingly, the couple had no visible security detail around them.

The video, posted on Sunday, October 19, has already been viewed nearly 900,000 times. Social media users applauded the couple for their genuine and relatable behavior.

One user wrote, "They are brave."

"Flying commercial and actually living by example. More politicians should take notes on this,” another person said.

"Fantastic to see RFK Jr and his wife keeping it real on an economy flight! That’s the kind of genuine behavior the American people respect, not the hypocrisy we see from AOC and Bernie Sanders taking lavish private jets,” one comment read.

Another user added, “@RobertKennedyJr is a good man. His wife Cheryl—they are so appreciated! But please, stay safe. If needed for security, fly private."

“Ok. But protect RFK Jr by all means possible,” someone else wrote.

“All the more reason to like the guy,” another added.

Many users contrasted Kennedy and Hines’ travel choice with that of politicians like Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and Bernie Sanders, who have been criticized for using private jets during Sanders’ “Fighting Oligarchy” rallies.

Fox News reported that the pair had been spotted earlier this year stepping off a Bombardier Challenger 604 — a luxury jet worth up to $7 million and costing about $15,000 per flight hour to charter.
