Richard Gere's wife Alejandra Silva confesses she 'misses' US after moving to Spain following Trump's win

MADRID, SPAIN: Richard Gere's wife Alejandra Silva has not completely moved on from her life in the US, as she confessed to missing the country after moving to Spain.
The 75-year-old actor and his publicist wife, along with their sons Alexander, six, and James, four, as well as Silva's son Albert, 11, moved away from America in the fall of 2024.
It was speculated that the couple's decision to move from the US was taken after President Donald Trump won the November 2024 election, Radar Online reported.

Alejandra Silva confirms her and Richard Gere’s return to the US
During a new interview with the Daily Mail, Alejandra Silva said, “For a few years and then come back (to America). But we're always coming back.”
“We'll come back here in the summer because we have the kids at camp. We just have to balance our lives there and here,” she disclosed.

The political activist also admitted, “I'm with my family... You know, I missed them a lot. But I miss the US. So we come back and forth.”
Richard Gere is ‘happier than ever’ in Spain
Alejandra Silva's husband, Richard Gere, however, appears to have a different view.
The ‘Runaway Bride’ star revealed earlier this year that he and his family “are happier than ever. [Alejandra], because she is at home and I because, if she is happy, I am happy,” according to People.
He also slammed Trump while accepting an International Goya Award.
“We’re in a very dark place in America where we have a bully and a thug who’s the President of the United States,” the ‘Pretty Woman’ actor said, as per Deadline.
Richard Gere’s now ‘more like American jiggle-o,’ claims source
Meanwhile, Richard Gere is believed to be “playing house-hubby and loves it,” a tipster spilled.
The source also shared, “He’s also gained weight from all the delicious paella, croquettes, tortillas de patatas, and churros he's been devouring like crazy and washing down with bottles of fine wine from his own cellar. Forget America Gigolo – he's more like American jiggle-o now.”

The tipster further mentioned that the ‘Unfaithful’ star is enjoying more in Spain.
“Richard was much more constrained while in America, where he felt the same pressure as other actors to stay fit and lean," they said.
The insider added, "He isn't nearly as shallow as people may think. He played into the hot guy stereotype, but he's much more nuanced than that and happy to let go. Now, his attitude is, 'So what if I've got a belly roll?'"
