Richard O’Sullivan, known for 'Man About the House' and 'Robin’s Nest', dies at 82
LONDON, ENGLAND: British actor Richard O’Sullivan is no more. The comedian, best known for his roles in the British sitcom 'Man About the House' and its spin-off 'Robin’s Nest', died at the age of 82. The actor died on Friday, September 4, surrounded by his close family members.
In a statement, the Royal Variety Charity said it was “deeply saddened to announce the passing of the legendary and much-loved British actor.” O’Sullivan died at the same home where he had lived for more than two decades. He is survived by his son, James.

According to the Royal Variety Charity, the statement read, “deeply saddened to announce the passing of the legendary and much-loved British actor, Richard O’Sullivan.”
“Richard, 82, passed away peacefully surrounded by his close family at the Royal Variety Charity’s Care Home, Brinsworth House in Twickenham, shortly after 6 am on Friday, 4th September, where he had happily resided for the past 23 years,” it read.
Life President of the Royal Variety, Giles Cooper OBE, also paid tribute to Richard, saying, “Richard O’Sullivan was a master of effortless charm and impeccable comic timing, bringing pure warmth, effortless wit, and unforgettable joy into millions of living rooms as a true giant of British television. He will be sorely missed by us all at the Royal Variety Charity.”

His co-star Sally Thomsett also shared a monochrome picture and an emotional note as a tribute. She called the actor her “dear friend” and wrote, “Hello my sweethearts. I have just woken up to the most dreadful news, my dearest friend & co-star. The wonderful Richard O'Sullivan has passed away."
She added, "He was talented, kind & funny. I am lucky to have the most wonderful memories of him that will never leave, he was so loved by so many. RIP, my dearest one. Sending kisses to take with you to heaven; you are so sorely missed, Sally. XxXxX”

Richard O’Sullivan's son James remembers his father after his death
According to People, O’Sullivan’s son James remembered his father for his humor and charm, saying in a statement, “My dad was as funny and charming in real life as he appeared on our TV screens over the years.”
“Although much of his career happened before I was born, I was fortunate enough to be able to enjoy and witness his incredible talents on the countless reruns of his shows that made him the respected and loved actor that he was,” he added before thanking the staff at Brinsworth House for their “love, kindness and care.”
“Always kind-spirited, good-humoured, a doting grandfather and a wonderful dad - I will miss him dearly,” James concluded.
