Rihanna may never make music again as 'it's just too easy' to earn millions from glamorous ad campaigns
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Global superstar, billionaire, and certified multitasking queen Rihanna is apparently ready to hit the snooze button on her music career.
Why? Because landing fashion deals and ad campaigns is just too darn easy for the Bajan beauty. And honestly, can we blame her?
According to Radar Online, the 36-year-old mogul has no plans to return to the stress of studio sessions or grueling tours. Instead, she’s all about cashing those effortless checks from her various businesses and glamorous photo shoots.
Is Rihanna waving goodbye to the charts thanks to her businesses?
An insider spilled the tea to Radar Online: “Rihanna hasn’t released any music for such a long time, and there’s not much sign of any more coming. Since becoming a mom, she’s still earned big money due to her Fenty range and other affiliated brands, and best of all, it hasn’t taken much effort."
"So why does she need to get back into the stress of the studio, touring, and promo when it’s just too easy to make money starring in sexy ad campaigns?” they added.
That said, Rihanna isn’t just sitting pretty. Her net worth a jaw-dropping $1.4 billion, thanks to her empire that includes everything from Fenty Beauty to Savage X Fenty. And now, she’s taking her boss moves to the next level with a surprising new venture: reusable cloth diapers.
After being praised for putting her first son in an eco-friendly nappy on the cover of British Vogue last year, Rihanna filed trademarks for her own line under Fenty Kids and Fenty Athletic. The trademarks are still being reviewed, but Rihanna’s already got big plans for her baby-inspired line.
In her own words: “When you come up with something in your head, half the time it is not available because kids' clothes are so… they’re sooo boring. I’m like, ‘This is what y’all been doing to these people’s kids all along?’ I feel like the kids need it. Let’s get these kids cool. These kids deserve to be cool.”
And speaking of motherhood, Rihanna’s loving it. She gave birth to her second son, Riot Rose Mayers, with partner A$AP Rocky in August last year. They’re also parents to two-year-old RZA Athelston Mayers. Reflecting on life with her little ones, Rihanna gushed, “It’s everything. You really don’t remember life before, that’s the craziest thing ever.”
Rihanna’s journey to motherhood wasn’t what she originally pictured, but she’s here for it.
Back in 2022, she admitted, “I always thought it would be marriage first, then a baby, but who the f**k says it has to be that way? I’m certainly not gonna let that get in the way of me being a mom.”
That $6 million performance drama
Now, let’s talk about the rare occasion she did dip her toes back into music this year.
Rihanna made a splash at a pre-wedding event for Indian billionaire Anant Ambani and his bride Radhika Merchant. Rumor has it she pocketed a cool $6 million for a 90-minute performance.
But not everyone was impressed.
Clips from the event went viral on X (formerly Twitter), and critics called her performance “lazy” and “uninspired".
"I’ve always said she’s an incredibly lazy performer…..she never took the time to improve her performances," one posted on X.
"I’d be asking for a refund because what is this," another lamented.
"This right here is she’s telling us she’s done with music and performing," someone else chimed in.
