DUBLIN, IRELAND: Rosie O'Donnell is firing back after President Donald Trump launched a fresh personal attack, publicly threatening to revoke her US citizenship. The comedian and outspoken Trump critic responded with sharp words and little surprise.

In a TikTok video posted from her new home in Howth, a coastal suburb of Dublin, O’Donnell, 63, dismissed the threat as “absurd,” saying she had long braced for Trump to escalate their decades-long feud.

Rosie O'Donnell calls Donald Trump's attack ‘absurd’ and predictable

“I’m safe here in Ireland. I’m out of the reach of the tangerine Mussolini,” she said. “I have to say that I was expecting him to do something as absurd as he did for a few reasons. Number one, I read Project 2025. Number two, I’ve had 20 years of abuse from him so I knew it wasn’t going to stop, and number three, I know myself well enough to know that I wasn’t going to shut up.”

O’Donnell relocated to Ireland in early 2025 following Trump’s re-election.

The former talk show host moved abroad with her 12-year-old nonbinary child after the election, citing emotional distress and a desire to protect her family.

“I knew that coming to Ireland would keep me safe, and getting out of the United States was a necessity because my heart couldn't take the pain of what he was going to do and what he, in fact, has done,” she said.

Rosie O'Donnell rejects Donald Trump’s threat to revoke citizenship

Rosie O'Donnell is standing firm after Donald Trump’s latest attack, a threat to revoke her American citizenship.

“I will never renounce my American citizenship,” O’Donnell said in a TikTok video addressing the controversy. “I’m waiting happily for my Irish citizenship so that I can be a dual citizen, but I will never renounce my American citizenship, ever.”

Trump’s outburst, posted to Truth Social, accused the longtime critic of being a “threat to humanity” and claimed, “Because of the fact that Rosie O’Donnell is not in the best interests of our Great Country, I am giving serious consideration to taking away her Citizenship. She is a Threat to Humanity, and should remain in the wonderful Country of Ireland, if they want her. GOD BLESS AMERICA!” Trump wrote.

Legal experts say Trump’s claim about revoking Rosie O’Donnell’s citizenship doesn’t hold any value because the comedian was born in New York. The 14th Amendment guarantees her status as a US citizen, and that can’t be taken away by presidential order.

The only way O’Donnell could lose her citizenship is if she voluntarily gave it up herself, something she’s made clear she has no intention of doing.

Rosie O’Donnell rips Donald Trump’s mental fitness

Comedian and longtime Trump critic Rosie O’Donnell also launched a fiery broadside against President Donald Trump, questioning his mental fitness.

“I believe that his dementia forces him to think that he actually is a king,” O’Donnell said, arguing that Trump’s behavior suggests a detachment from democratic norms. “We don’t have kings in America. That's why we started America, not wanting to have kings, no monarchy. Liberty and justice for all, for all.”

Turning her attention to the president’s supporters, O’Donnell expressed deep concern about the political influence wielded by older leaders.

“What is our country’s fascination with letting these nearly-octogenarians run our world?” she said. “You don’t let grandpa, at 80 years old, use the electric knife on the turkey, right? But we’re gonna give this guy the nuclear codes.”

Rosie O’Donnell’s claim that she wasn’t surprised when President Donald Trump threatened to revoke her US citizenship after what she described as “20 years of abuse” has reignited their long-running feud and sparked a flood of strong online reactions.

One user wrote, “This is probably the most attention Rosie has gotten since she left The View ... and she's loving every minute of it.”

Another chimed in, “Rosie... no one wants you back in the States. No one.”

Others pointed to the long-standing feud between the two, writing, “She started it way before he did. Stop lying.”

“Imagine waking up and starting your day by talking about the person you hate the most. Trump won and he keeps winning in Rosie’s deranged head,” one commented.

A more blunt reaction read, “Stay in Ireland. WE WILL BE JUST FINE.”

Still, some questioned the seriousness of the entire situation, with one user commenting, “I don’t really think he thinks about you that much, Rosie. Sorry!”

A user penned, “There's not a single place on this planet that Rosie can escape from Trump He lives in her head and consumes her every thought,” while another added, “Can she get any more pathetic? Leftists always think the world revolves around them. She definitely lost it.”
