NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Comedian Rosie O'Donnell, known for her opposition to Donald Trump, has voiced her criticism of 'Morning Joe' co-hosts Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski for their recent meeting with the president-elect at Mar-a-Lago.

In a TikTok post, the former daytime talk show host criticized the 'Morning Joe' co-hosts for discussing Trump's threats to the nation for years, only to visit his Florida home and "kiss the ring" before his return to office.

Rosie O’Donnell said, "It’s the last time I ever watch ‘Morning Joe.’ Period. End of statement."

"Unreal," she went on to say, "For months you were telling us he’s the worst thing that could happen to this country and democracy. And then you go kiss his ring? Despicable. Despicable you, both of you."

Scarborough and Brzezinski visited Mar-a-Lago on Friday, November 15, to speak with Trump after his significant electoral win earlier in the month.

Discussing the meeting on their MSNBC talk show on Monday, November 18, they mentioned Trump's cheerful demeanor and his apparent interest in seeking common ground with Democrats on key issues.

Scarborough informed his audience about the discussion of topics such as abortion, mass deportation, and threats of retribution against political adversaries and media organizations, describing the meeting as a move to "restart communications."

According to Fox News, O'Donnell has encouraged her followers to switch off their TVs.

"It’s like, 'Impending doom. Impending doom.’ But without a warning. They’re just like, ‘Well, Trump nominated so-and-so,’ not like, ‘Holy s**t, people. You’re not going to believe this. We got to do something.’ That’s what the newscasters should be saying, but they’re not. But they’re not," she added.

Liberals lash out after 'Morning Joe' hosts meet Donald Trump

The meeting incited anger among fellow liberals, who vehemently criticized the co-hosts on social media. "BREAKING NEWS: I TOLD YOU SO," former MSNBC host Keith Olbermann referred to the pair as "Trump collaborators."

He added, "Not a word Mr and Mrs Vichy Quisling say can ever be trusted again - not that those words ever should have been trusted. They are confidence tricksters - and grifters."

"Normalizing Trump is a bad idea. Period," MSNBC host Katie Phang also made a statement, seemingly in reference to her network colleagues.

X users have criticized the 'Morning Joe' co-hosts for their meeting with Trump. One wrote, "A turn coat. I’ve lost all respect for Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski. All other MSNBC personalities are preparing for the worst. Joe and Mika kissed the ring. Will they become another Fox News show?"

Another agreed with O'Donnell, "She’s not wrong. How can they call him Hitler and the end of democracy and the turn around and have a polite conversation with him? They are despicable, but they have always been."

"Morning Joe had to know that his audience is 99% liberal and this move would kill him. So, why did he do it?" a commentator asked.

A person remarked, "They went to beg for their freedom!"
