DUBLIN, IRELAND: Rosie O’Donnell has embarked on a new chapter of her life after relocating from the US to Ireland.

The comedian, 62, confirmed earlier in March that she is now living in Ireland with her 12-year-old child, Clay.

Rosie O’Donnell praises daughter Clay’s resilience amid move

Rosie O’Donnell took to TikTok to express how “proud and impressed” she is with Clay’s ability to adapt to their new home on Thursday, March 20.

“It’s not easy to move to another country, and we really felt as a family this was the safest and best thing for us to do,”  O’Donnell continued.

She also spoke about settling into Dublin, where she currently resides, according to People, and how she has been embracing the change in her daily life.

During a recent shopping trip, she realized the move had significantly affected her overall health.

Rosie O’Donnell noted that she has noticed improvements in her well-being since relocating.

“I feel healthier, I’m sleeping better without the stress and anxiety over what was happening politically in the country,” O’Donnell said, referring to the US.

She addressed her long-standing dispute with President Donald Trump and shared that his policies were a major reason for her decision to leave.

“I knew that it would really tax me emotionally to have to do that,” she said of remaining in the US under Trump’s leadership. “So I’m very happy that we made the decision that we made,” she added.

Rosie O’Donnell is looking forward to gaining Irish citizenship

As she continues adjusting, Rosie O’Donnell expressed gratitude for the support she has received from family members in Ireland.

“I’m grateful to have two cousins in Northern Ireland who have helped me adjust,” said Rosie O’Donnell.

In a previous TikTok video, she mentioned she was in the process of obtaining Irish citizenship, as her grandparents were from Ireland.

She also shared insight into her reasons for leaving the US, stating, “I was never someone who thought I would move to another country."

"You know, I’m happy. Clay is happy. I miss my other kids. I miss my friends," she said.

"I miss many things about life there at home and I’m trying to find a home here in this beautiful country and when it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back," O’Donnell added, according to MEAWW
