Nicole Kidman's adopted children she shares with ex Tom Cruise blasted as they skip her AFI tribute
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Nicole Kidman's wish to see all her children together remained unfulfilled as Connor and Bella chose to miss her Life Achievement Award ceremony, hosted by the American Film Institute (AFI).
‘The Others’ star became the first Australian actress to be honored with America's highest honor for her contribution to the film industry.
However, the evening of Saturday, April 27, would have been more special for Kidman, if her two adopted children, whom she shares with her ex-husband, Tom Cruise, had cheered for her from the front row.
Kidman and Cruise got married in 1990 before calling it quits in 2001. The actress went on to tie the knot with Keith Urban in 2006 and they welcomed two daughters, Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret.

Nicole Kidman thinks Connor and Bella are extremely loyal to Tom Cruise
As per reports, Kidman was eager for Connor and Bella to attend the event but knew that her son was too "loyal" to her ex-husband, Cruise.
"Nicole knows Connor is extremely loyal to his dad so she doesn't expect him to come, but the invitation is there for both of them," told a source to New Idea in June 2023.
They added, "It's an event they have every right to celebrate along with the rest of Nicole's family. Nicole is trying to limit her expectations, but is clinging to hope Bella might make it."
Not much is known about the actress' relationship with her adopted children as doesn’t speak much about them publicly, as per DailyMail.
The 'Dogville' star however once said in an interview that Connor and Bella have "picked Scientology" and also "don't call her mum."

Having said that, Kidman has plenty of support on Saturday, with her current husband, Urban, and their daughters, Sunday and Faith, standing beside her.
Moreover, her sister, Antonia, brother-in-law, Craig Marran, and her niece, Sybella Hawley, joined them at the Los Angeles event.
Taking to her Instagram, Kidman shared a photo from the AFI ceremony and wrote, "Deeply moved by all of the support around the world that I’ve been seeing and hearing. Thank you to all of you and to the @AmericanFilmInstitute for including me in this illustrious group of honourees - now let's have some fun!"

Internet reacts to Connor and Bella snubbing Nicole Kidman's AFI event
A netizen wrote, "Two very rude and ungrateful children. Can you imagine adopting two children, desperate to be a mother and then they both join cults and turn out like these two."
"So sad Nicole’s kids with Cruise have been brainwashed and are no longer in her life. It’s good she moved on to have a stable marriage and family with Keith," remarked another.
A person noted, "I thought as they got older they may develop a mind of their owns and not be under the control of Scientology," while someone else suggested, "They don't like you Nicole...move on!"
"Lucky she escaped TC & his wacky scientology. dodged a bullet," shared a Facebook user.
One more declared, "Sounds like they have been brainwashed."
Another person chose to focus on Kidman and Urban's daughters and wrote, "Oh well that's there issue hey but Keith and Nicole's 2 daughters were there to support her, they looked so grown up and beautiful."
"Nicole abandoned them. She could have fought harder for them. Children become distant and resentful towards a parent who abandoned them," opined an individual.
