LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Tom Cruise has allegedly broken up with his Russian girlfriend Elsina Khayrova in order to avoid her forthright and chatty ex-husband Dmitry Tsvetkov.
After Elsina was first spotted with Cruise at a private party in London in December 2023, rumor mills started to spin regarding the duo’s relationship. However, in February 2024, The Sun reported that the rumored couple parted ways for good.
Now, a source close to the ‘Top Gun: Maverick’ actor, who is busy filming for the eighth film of his ‘Mission: Impossible’ series in London, has revealed that Cruise split from his Russian socialite girlfriend because of her ex-husband.

The source shared with Page Six that Elsina’s ex-husband Tsvetkov is probably the reason for the 61-year-old Hollywood star and the Russian socialite’s premature breakup.
After the news of their dating broke, Tsvetkov - an international diamond tycoon - sat for a tell-all interview with Daily Mail where he warned Cruise to “keep his eyes and wallet wide open.”
The insider shared with Page Six that, “He’s filming and can’t be shooting and have her husband saying stuff every time he is mentioned in the press.”
The tipster further added, “They just didn’t want to deal with the ex-husband coming up with something nasty to say every few weeks.”
Nevertheless, the source added that Elsina is hopeful of the romance and hopes that they can still rekindle their love in the future. “She didn’t do anything wrong,” says the source.
Dmitry Tsetkov gave advice to Tom Cruise
In mid-December, as it was reported that Cruise was dating Elsina, her diamond-trading ex-husband sat for a lengthy interview with UK’s Daily Mail.
Speaking to the news outlet, the merchant said, “Irrespective of whoever she's with, Tom Cruise or anybody else, they should be aware that she likes the finer things in life and has expensive and luxurious taste. Tom should keep his eyes and wallet wide open.”
He, nevertheless, said, “I'm happy for her, I wish her all the best.”
He also claimed that his acrimonious divorce battle with Elsina cost him about $200 million. He also claimed to have spent over $12 million on clothes and approximately $2.5 million on handbags for his ex during their marriage.
He also fawned over Cruise in the interview and claimed the Hollywood star is his favorite actor.
Tsetkov shared, “Tom Cruise is my favorite actor, he's one of the best I have ever seen.”
He continued, “I have watched a lot of his movies. I first heard about him when I was 13 from my English teacher who came back from the US and told us that she lived next door to him.”
Tsetkov also shared that if a film is made about his life, he wants Cruise to play his role. The oligarch explained, “I told the producer that the only actor who could play me is Tom Cruise. We're about the same height and weight and I would be honoured if that could happen.”
He continued, “I couldn't think of anyone better to play me than Tom. I'm hoping that I'll be able to meet him one day to discuss this project.”
He further shared that Cruise’s 2010 hit ‘Eyes Wide Shut’ is his favorite film and that he has watched it around 30 times.
Tsetkov continued, “I also love Rainman and The Firm and know a lot of the dialogue of that one off by heart. But Elsina didn't know about any of these films because she's never been a big Tom Cruise fan. I'm sure all that has changed now.”
