LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Sabrina Carpenter's VMAs performance has ignited a whirlwind of speculation among fans, with many convinced she subtly shaded former president Donald Trump during her dazzling set.

The 25-year-old pop sensation took the stage on Wednesday night, September 11, performing a medley of her hits 'Please Please Please', 'Taste', and 'Espresso', but it was one particular moment that set social media ablaze.

Fans think Sabrina Carpenter dissed Donald Trump with an alien kiss

Amid the star-studded night, the bit where Sabrina Carpenter kissed an alien dressed in women's clothing during her performance sent X (formerly Twitter) users into a frenzy.

Theories suggesting that the pop singer was taking a swipe at Trump, 78, following his bizarre comment during a debate with Vice President Kamala Harris the night before quickly surfaced online.

The former president claimed that Kamala was planning to allow "transgender operations on illegal aliens in prison," a statement widely mocked online by liberal commentators.

Fans believe Sabrina’s kiss may have been a tongue-in-cheek nod to Trump’s viral remark, with many applauding her for the subtle jab.

Dressed in a sparkling bodysuit and glittering platform heels, the singer created an otherworldly vibe with backup dancers dressed as astronauts and aliens, making the moment all the more impactful.

While Carpenter hasn’t addressed the theories, the timing of her performance—days after her close friend Taylor Swift publicly endorsed Harris—has only fueled speculation.

Swift also commended Harris' running mate Tim Walz for "standing up for LGBTQ+ rights, IVF, and a woman's right to her own body for decades."

Donald Trump cites Kamala Harris' 2019 remarks on transgender care

During the debate, Donald Trump appeared to reference comments Kamala Harris made in 2019 about taxpayer-funded medical care for transgender individuals.

"As president, will you use your executive authority to ensure that transgender and nonbinary people who rely on the state for medical care — including those in prison and immigration detention — will have access to comprehensive treatment associated with gender transition, including all necessary surgical care?" she was asked.
