Pete Davidson's ongoing mental health issues

Mental health has "always been a priority" for Pete Davidson who has been open about his sobriety journey, borderline personality disorder diagnosis, and severe post-traumatic stress disorder, reports People.

A source mentioned that Davidson has been "focusing on his sobriety" and his friends and family are "very proud" of him for continuing to take care of himself.

Davidson, who was in the middle of his nationwide Prehab Tour, had to cancel scheduled stops in Florida and Kentucky, according to The Sun.

Pete Davidson received support from his friends and family

Pete Davidson recently underwent treatment in the summer of 2023 to address issues related to PTSD and borderline personality disorder.

Sources elaborated that "Pete will often check himself into rehab to work on these issues. His friends and family have been supportive during this time."

Davidson has long been open about his mental health struggles, addressing his recent stint during a September 2023 comedy show with John Mulaney and Jon Stewart in Atlantic City, New Jersey.

"I am fresh out of rehab, everyone," he told the crowd at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino’s Etess Arena. "I got that post-rehab glow. Seventh time’s the charm!" he added.

Davidson revealed he took ketamine daily for four years saying, "It was magical."

Pete Davidson's first realization of BDP, anxiety, and depression

In 2018, Davidson revealed he had been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder after struggling with depression and anxiety for years.

He said the symptoms led him to check into rehab in December 2016, initially thinking his mental breakdowns were due to heavy marijuana use.

“This whole year has been a f***ing nightmare,” he said on the WTF with Marc Maron podcast in September 2017.

“This has been the worst year of my life, getting diagnosed with this and trying to figure out how to learn with this and live with this,” he added.

In an August 2018 interview with Variety, Davidson said he’d “been in and out of mental health facilities” since he was nine years old, but new medication had stabilized him after several turbulent years.

“The last few years have been real rough with me,” he said, adding “I took all these mental health classes and really spent a lot of time getting me good.”
