Savannah Chrisley says fans hurt her by referring to sister Chloe as her niece: 'Do your research'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Savannah Chrisley wants to set the record straight regarding her family dynamics.
She is firm in stating that her younger sister, Chloe, is not her niece but her sister, and comments suggesting otherwise are harmful.
Savannah Chrisley says comments about Chloe's family background are 'infuriating'
The large Chrisley brood consists of patriarchs Todd and Julie Chrisley as well as Savannah's siblings Lindsie, 35, Kyle, 33, Chase, 28, Grayson, 18, and Chloe, 12.
Chloe, is the biological daughter of Kyle and his ex-wife, Angela Johnson. However, Todd Chrisley and Julie legally adopted her in 2016 due to Kyle’s personal struggles.
Since then, she has been raised as their daughter and is the youngest of the Chrisley siblings.
"My heart, honestly, breaks for Chloe because Chloe has not had an easy upbringing. Her biological parents turned their backs on her from a very young age," Savannah told People.
She said when her parents got her custody, Chloe's biological father and mother were completely out of picture.
Savannah expresses frustration over people calling Chloe her niece.
"It's just infuriating because people want to use race to cause this huge divide," she said.
Noting those referring to Chloe as her "niece" need to "do your research" and "know the full story."
Savannah Chrisley says Todd and Julie Chrisley took in Chloe to 'save her'
Savannah Chrisley said her parents adopted Chloe to "save her from a very bad situation." Also, they "loved" her and wanted to give her "the best life possible."
"When Chloe looks at me, she's like, 'That's my sister,'" Savannah said.

"When people look at my dad and say "that's Chloe's grandpa", Chloe asked "why do they keep saying that."
"So when people make public comments, they put titles on things, but in reality, they're hurting her," Savannah said.
Savannah Chrisley says Chloe struggles with being labeled differently
Savannah Chrisley explains that Todd Chrisley never forced Chloe to address him as "dad."
"There was never a time where my dad said, 'You have to call me dad,' or, 'You have to call her mom,' " she shared.
"My dad fought against it because he felt guilt at the fact that his son's child is now calling him dad," she explained.

"My dad felt a guilt he never should have felt, because if Chloe's biological father would've been a father, then we wouldn't be in this position. And so, Chloe struggles with that. She hates it," she said.
"She hates it when people say, 'Oh, that's your aunt,' or, 'That's your grandpa.' Because that's not what she identifies with," she stated.

"We are best friends. Me, Chloe, and Grayson. It's like we're the three best friends," Savannah said.
"It's all three of us, and we just tackle everything together," she added.
