Todd Chrisley alleges prison guards removed MAGA sticker from his cell, seeks pardon from Trump
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Todd Chrisley, the former 'Chrisley Knows Best' star, has formally requested pardon from President Donald Trump, according to his attorney Jay Surgent.
Chrisley and his wife, Julie Chrisley, have been serving their sentences in Florida after being convicted of bank fraud and tax evasion.
Todd Chrisley's allegations of prison retaliation
Surgent told TMZ that Chrisley and Julie are hopeful Trump will review their case, arguing that Todd did not receive fair constitutional protections during his trial.
The request for clemency comes as Chrisley claims he has faced targeted mistreatment behind bars, allegedly due to his vocal support for the president.
Surgent detailed a series of alleged retaliatory actions taken against Chrisley, which he believes stem from his conservative political stance.
One specific incident involves a prison guard reportedly removing a “Make America Great Again” sticker from Chrisley’s cell.
The reality TV star remained silent out of fear of further repercussions.
Additionally, Chrisley claims that his prison cell has been frequently subjected to aggressive searches.
These “shakedowns,” as his attorney described them, involved prison staff flipping his mattress, rummaging through his personal belongings, and throwing his books.
At one point, Chrisley alleged that a guard intentionally poured a Pepsi onto his bed as an act of humiliation.
Inside Todd and Julie Chrisley's legal battles and sentencing
Todd Chrisley and his wife Julie were sentenced in 2022 after being convicted of defrauding banks out of more than $30 million in fraudulent loans.
Prosecutors argued that the couple lived an extravagant lifestyle funded by deception while evading taxes.
Julie received a seven-year sentence, while Chrisley was sentenced to 12 years in prison.

Their defense team has consistently maintained that the Chrisleys were unfairly targeted and that the judicial system failed them.
The couple has appealed their convictions, but they have yet to receive any relief in the legal system.
Todd Chrisley's prison work and controversies
Despite the difficult circumstances, Todd Chrisley initially took on a role as an administrative assistant to the chaplain at the Federal Prison Camp Pensacola chapel.
However, his lawyer claims he was later dismissed from the position for being overly social with other inmates.
Chrisley’s attorney argues that his dismissal was unwarranted and further evidence of how prison authorities have treated him unfairly.
The prison has not publicly commented on the claims.
Todd and Julie Chrisley's family’s support and political advocacy
While Todd Chrisley and Julie remain incarcerated, their daughter, Savannah Chrisley, has become one of their most vocal defenders.
Through her 'Unlocked' podcast, she has frequently discussed her parents’ legal struggles and prison conditions.
Savannah also made headlines for her staunch support of Donald Trump.
In a since-deleted Instagram post, she shared that neighbors had vandalized her pro-Trump signs and left her a letter urging her to remove them.

In response, she recorded herself dramatically tearing up the letter with her teeth in defiance.
She has also spoken about her father’s prison experience, at one point noting that he was “aging gracefully” and praising the prison barber for keeping his hair neatly trimmed.
Chrisley’s legal team remains hopeful that their request will reach Trump’s desk, according to Page Six.
“Todd has faith he will be given due consideration,” Surgent stated.
“He knows that he has been treated unfairly and hopes that President Trump will see the truth,” Surgent added.
